E-flat flute in 19th c.
[edit]The E-flat flute is often found in early 19th c. band music -- it's often called an F flute (in accordance with the tradition of calling the standard C flute a D flute). Meyerbeer uses it in the bands in his operas.
Doesn't Emerson also make a high G flute?
Will add these to the article when I can find exact page sources. -- Myke Cuthbert (talk) 05:30, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
- They probably do. But at some point don't conductors just say "let's use piccolos, we might as well"? Willi Gers07 (talk) 17:48, 20 May 2009 (UTC)
Correction
[edit]Correction: the Flutemakers Guild is apparently long-since defunct. 173.88.246.138 (talk) 17:52, 16 October 2020 (UTC)
