modifications

[edit]

I have added some more dates and events from Prof. Menon's "Survey of Kerala history". The tax arrears were for the involvement in the 1791 war, the 1805 mutiny and the subsidiary force. The involvement of the maharajahs themselves in the events are not very clear, at any rate, they were very quick to side with the winners. However, the maharajah of Travancore at the time was very weak and the power was in the hands of the minister. I have also extended the description of the events to the end of the rebellion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.29.53.82 (talk) 20:08, 15 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Involvement of the Sikh army

[edit]

None of the historians in Kerala or the British historians mention the involvement of the Sikh forces. Geographically, the location was far away from Sikh territories to ensure easy transport of troops and the war took place at a time when the Sikhs were allied with the British. This inclusion might have been a result of recent issues. So unless there are clear references from reputed historians, I will have no option except to remove this. 2003:D5:FF0C:2806:B10C:4153:B74F:D816 (talk) 11:04, 11 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
