Merge proposal
[edit]Suggesting merger as the two articles seem to have very similar content (and separate titles are probably redundant anyway). Thomas K (talk) 23:15, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
- Agreed - I've redirected Plastid transformation to this page - the content was identical. I will therefore remove the move template. Smartse (talk) 14:19, 14 July 2009 (UTC)
Some confusing material
[edit]I was wondering whether antibiotics are used in transplastomic work, and there seems to be some old text copied from elsewhere in here: "In order to persist and be stably maintained in the cell, a plasmid DNA molecule must contain an origin of replication, which allows it to be replicated in the cell independently of the chromosome." Are plasmids used for transforming chloroplasts? Sminthopsis84 (talk) 16:10, 29 March 2013 (UTC)
