I haven't even seen the content that CorenSearchBot says I've copied from... There's only a couple of sentences in the article so far - will be adding more later, including refs to any relevant materials. Monsterseas (talk) 15:23, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I removed the notice. Melchoir (talk) 06:48, 17 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Merge/rename

[edit]

We already have a stub that addresses this topic. This method is better known within industry as "spoofing" or "decoying". See Spoofing (anti-piracy measure). Wikispan (talk) 16:16, 31 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

NPOV

[edit]

This article could do a better job of distinguishing between malicious individuals who pollute file sharing networks for profit (via Trojans, etc.) and anti-piracy organisations who attempt to protect legitimate content providers. Wikispan (talk) 16:16, 31 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It appears that about half of this article is based on rumor and innuendo from piracy sites that state opinions without evidence followed by streams of crude responses.Objective3000 (talk) 11:14, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It most assuredly needs a lot of work. Nor am I happy with using TorentFreak as a reliable source, for the simple reason it does not meet criteria. As I have shown previously, TF is a blog that promotes copyright infringement and interferes with ongoing Police investigations.
"According to authorities the site had been subjected to a months-long operation. This is something TorrentFreak can confirm. Following a tipoff from a very reliable source, we informed NinjaVideo months ago that they were being watched..."[1]
Can you imagine the Washington Post or the New York Times tipping off Pirate websites? This article requires better sources. Wikispan (talk) 16:16, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Objective3000, I think "about half" is a slight exaggeration. Wikispan, point taken - I have removed the very small section that referenced TorrentFreak, and I'm in the process of looking for better references. Monsterseas (talk) 12:15, 22 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
