[edit]Is Schmit of German, Austrian or Swiss stock? The name suggests this strongly. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.184.37.11 (talk) 00:38, 17 June 2009 (UTC)
- His father Daniel Schmit supposedly was of "Mexican and Chilean" ancestry. With a family name like Schmit it is highly likely that the first forefather Schmit entering the New World was Germanic. Visual ethnic traits do not exclude family intermarriages with ethnically autochthonous ("Red Indian") Chilean and/or Mexican women. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2003:46:1A12:9558:6971:2768:A37A:9C43 (talk) 11:19, 31 October 2016 (UTC)
- On some Eagles forum the information appeared that his father was adopted by a Schmit. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.210.123.27 (talk) 12:07, 26 February 2017 (UTC)

Myself, my mother and my cousin took music lessons from Daniel Schmit, Timothy B Schmit's father. According to Dan Schmit, Timothy B Schmit was part Chilean. I don't remember anything about Dan Schmit's wife (Timothy B's mother). But, Mr. (as in Dan) Schmit claimed to be some part Chilean. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.5.112.222 (talk) 06:40, 9 November 2019 (UTC)

- No - that was slipped in by two IP editors.[1][2] No evidence of it, no reference, so I removed it. We need citations for things like this. Good catch! Doc talk 04:37, 7 July 2011 (UTC)
Collaboration with Warren Zevon?
[edit]Members of The Eagles (Henley, Walsh) are clearly credited on Zevon's final album, The Wind (2003). Supposedly, Schmit (and Henley) contribute(s) backing vocals on the track, She's Too Good for Me. Thoughts? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.55.155.231 (talk) 05:49, 29 March 2014 (UTC)
