Smugmug
[edit]I was just wondering, if Flickr is in the list, as well as its acquisition by Yahoo, why is not Smugmug, which in turn acquired Flickr a couple of years ago? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.6.97.142 (talk) 13:40, 17 December 2019 (UTC)
The Well
[edit]Shouldn't The Well be included? (Founded in 1985...)

Could new grounds be included?
[edit]New grounds is over 25 year old website where users can upload animations and even flash games. It is important to the history of internet animation and flash and because of that it seems like it would make sense to include. 169.244.116.71 (talk) 16:04, 11 May 2021 (UTC)
YouTube?
[edit]Why isn't Youtube included on here? Sure it's not really social media like Facebook or Myspace, but if Tumblr, Twitter, Instagram etc are here and they are not social media the same as Facebook or Myspace, then why not Youtube? 50.202.229.150 (talk) 15:02, 29 June 2021 (UTC)

The first social media app on mobile phones
[edit]What was the first social media app on ANY mobile phone? Not specifically on an Apple or Samsung or any other type of mobile phone, et cetera, just the first social media on any mobile phone or type of mobile phone in general. This is a milestone for social media, and I'm surprised it isn't already on the timeline. It should be added. 172.14.74.41 (talk) 22:12, 24 May 2022 (UTC)
Usenet
[edit]Shouldn't Usenet rate a mention (1980)? 2604:CA00:1DC:1863:0:0:663:33BA (talk) 01:19, 3 November 2022 (UTC)
Citation fix from JustHistoryLiam
[edit]{Citation needed|reason=So, in the part where it says, "Bolt is the first social media platform" I think it is true, because people on Reddit and other community platforms say it is true. (And dead now). But I think the first ever social media platform was Six Degrees. (on May 1997) |date=April 2023}}
Why not StackOverflow?
[edit]As I know this is a social network. 177.227.56.191 (talk) 17:10, 27 April 2023 (UTC)
Clarity on requirements for significance
[edit]What are the requirements to be included in the list? I think the lack of clarity is resulting in an article that's increasingly trivial. I see Telegram Business's launch is included, but I don't see why that's a significant event. It looks like it's just a feature update comparable to other sites' "verified" accounts, but those events are not also included in the list. – Primium (talk) 01:31, 18 May 2024 (UTC)
- There's also the milestone 'Poast DMs hacked', but the launch of Poast is not even included in the list. The site doesn't even have an article. – Primium (talk) 01:36, 18 May 2024 (UTC)
- The list also includes "Meta deletes Ali Khamenei's Instagram account", but no mention of Trump's numerous bans, or Marjorie Taylor Greene's from Twitter. I'm sure there are other politicians or world leaders who've been banned. – Primium (talk) 01:50, 18 May 2024 (UTC)
