Sourcing
[edit]The information in this article needs external sourcing from a site other than Mr. Walberg's campaign site. IMO, you can't really consider any politician's campaign site to constitute a reliable source.--Isotope23 19:28, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
- Comment, it would help if you actually used some non-POV sources... like newpaper articles... rather than puff pieces put out by the Club for Growth.--Isotope23 19:03, 15 September 2006 (UTC)
Too bad. The "puff piece" is accurate!Blue Spider 04:44, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
- Comment... perhaps, but the sourcing leaves much to be desired. It'd help if there were reliable sources.--Isotope23 19:55, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
Nick Dent?
[edit]A user from IP address 72.83.138.104 added that someone named Nick Dent was running in 2008, and was the only Democrat running thusfar. Does anyone have a source for that? I live in Walberg's district, and can think of five or six Democrats mentioned as possible candidates, but "Nick Dent" has never come up. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 64.112.219.78 (talk) 22:23, 28 February 2007 (UTC).
Updates
[edit]I'm seeing this with a lot of articles, so I thought I'd point some things out here. The lede should be a short summary - this one appeared to be a leftover from the 2008 campaign. Describe the person's most notable accomplishment to date, and current position as well, but don't go into detail about the rest. Separate what he did on the job from the political campaigns, and include all official candidates, especially those running in the current election (I didn't check past primary and general elections for him). Former committee assignments are important, but since they often change names I wikified the main committee and left the subcommittees as they were. The rest of the changes were fairly minor, such as wikifying, and you can do a compare to see them. The main point I'd like to make is don't let yourself get so caught up in the recent details that you don't check the overall picture. Pretend you're someone who doesn't know anything about the person but heard about him in the news. Be clear, especially what's current and what's history. Orphaned references in Tim Walberg
[edit]I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Tim Walberg's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
Reference named "axios":
- From Jane's Revenge: Clayworth, Jason (June 13, 2022). "Jane's Revenge claims it vandalized Des Moines resource center". Axios. Retrieved June 13, 2022.
- From Andy Biggs: Savitsky, Shane (August 29, 2017). "House Republican introduces measure to defund key climate research". Axios. Archived from the original on March 20, 2020. Retrieved March 20, 2020.
- From Kevin McCarthy (California politician): Allen-Ebrahimian, Bethany; Dorfman, Zach (December 8, 2020). "Exclusive: Suspected Chinese spy targeted California politicians". Axios.
I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT⚡ 04:10, 7 August 2022 (UTC)
