Overall: @Paradise_Chronicle: Though the article is not a stub, I would try to add more background about Ms. Rodriguez as well as what is so significant about an Afro-Cuban occupying the position she did in parliament. Additionally, was there anything noteworthy in her career (accomplishments, legacy, etc.)? The hook could also be a little more detailed. It's definitely almost there and I personally would like to know more about this woman. — That Coptic Guy (talk) 18:23, 4 October 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks for the review. With the length I was a bit overconfident and didn't double check, sorry. I now expanded the article so it just meets the 1500 characters and will try to find more. But I must admit, it's difficult to expand for now. Why I nominated it for DYK was mainly because I was surprised that there exists an Afro (Jamaican) descendent community (with an own language, Limonese) in a Central American country.Paradise Chronicle (talk) 20:01, 4 October 2022 (UTC)
- No worries and no need to be sorry for anything. You did a great job with this article. I updated the nomination taking into consideration your updated prose section too. So the article itself is now fine and now we just need to fix the hook. I would suggest a few more possible ALT's in addition to the one you have. Maybe something like...
- ALT1: ... that in 1982, Thelma Curling Rodríguez became the first Afro-Costa Rican woman and first woman member of the Costa Rican Parliament, and influenced by her ethnicity, chose to represent Limón?
- Something like that. Or you could steal that ALT if you like it. In any case, since this is my first DYK review, it is now best that you seek input from a more experienced reviewer who might have better insight. Again, great job! — That Coptic Guy (talk) 04:31, 5 October 2022 (UTC)

- Maybe I am wrong, but as for me ALT1 is a bit clumsy with two firsts in one phrase.Paradise Chronicle (talk) 00:00, 10 October 2022 (UTC)
- @That Coptic Guy and Paradise Chronicle: I was summoned here off-wiki by TCG – what I'll say is that I think all of these hooks are more or less equally interesting. If I had to put my stamp on it – I'd say that it's a pass, but that it might not do so well on the Main Page. theleekycauldron (talk • contribs) (she/her) 18:21, 10 October 2022 (UTC)
- It's ok. Its more of a stubbish article and I withdraw the nomination.Paradise Chronicle (talk) 23:22, 10 October 2022 (UTC)
