Does anyone remember the Wool House hosting the Mitchell Museum with a spitfire mounted outside? It must have been prior to 1966. I'm fairly sure I recall it correctly, but can't find any evidence online. The local history section of the Reference Library in the Civic Centre has Kelly's Directories from around that time, but I live too far away to check it now. --Northernhenge (talk) 18:44, 17 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Problem solved. The spitfire was there to mark the proposed site for the Mitchell Museum adjacent to the Wool House, but the museum was eventually opened elsewhere.--Northernhenge (talk) 21:38, 26 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
