[edit]Barring objections in the next week or so, i intend to move this page to War of the Gargantuas, being that the daikaiju and the film don't (yet) warrant separate entries and the film title is wikilinked by far more articles. I also propose to redirect the oft-linked Green Gargantua, Brown Gargantua, Guira (Green Gargantua), and Sanda (Brown Gargantua); the two daikaiju are significant primarily with respect to each other.—Crazillatalk|contribs 01:49, 15 January 2006 (UTC)
Cast List
[edit]The cast list is way too long for this article. Leave the complete cast list for the IMDb; a Wikipedia article need only mention the stars. 207.31.229.4 15:30, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
the plot - O.R.
[edit]Not only is this plot section factually incorrect, it's Original Research. There are several fantasy-film books that address this film, and a quick synopsis should be written using them and ensuring they are referenced. The style of the current plot section is very silly, and reads almost like promo-fodder. HammerFilmFan (talk) 05:54, 18 March 2011 (UTC) HammerFilmFan
Cleanup and Expansion
[edit]This article is under-sourced and is not properly developed with much of its information being unsourced or underdeveloped. Several sections are unsourced and not properly developed to such an extent that they either need to be rewritten entirely and given proper sources or deleted. These sections include the Production and English Versions sections. The article's lead is also unreferenced and poorly developed and should be rewritten and given proper citations. This article is also missing information on the film's reception which needs to be added to the article with reviews from notable critics and a mention of the film's cult following added. All of these changes and additions need to occur in order for this article to meet Wikipiedia's guidelines and standards of a well developed and properly sourced article.--Paleface Jack (talk) 18:34, 5 January 2016 (UTC)
"The Words Get Stuck In My Throat"
[edit]This is a song heard in a discotheque , within the film. It gained such a cult following , that the band DEVO , played it live for many years , in their early days. ( Sung by "Booji Boy" ( Mark Mothersbaugh ). It was later recorded as a studio version for their compilation album "Pioneers Who Got Scalped". It has , apparently , been covered by a number of other bands as well. Admittedly , I'm not sure if this falls under informational or it's simply trivial ? 75.104.163.77 (talk) 19:22, 11 September 2017 (UTC)
- As a matter of fact, this "trivia" is exactly what I came here to find out. So thank you! 165.225.38.83 (talk) 00:23, 10 December 2017 (UTC)
Starz and Infobox
[edit]A recent edit has included information about a Starz version of the film, but it lacks any source that the dub it uses is created by Toho. The user has been claiming knowledge about it, but per WP:OR, we can not publish original research. As well as citing the Japanese Film Database, which operates as a wiki, it fails WP:RS, so it should not be used as a source. Andrzejbanas (talk) 22:03, 2 November 2017 (UTC)
UPA
[edit]The UPA credits appear to be for the American version which Honda shot extra scenes for. The original, appears to be strictly a Toho production and the prose seems to back this up. Any thoughts/comments on this? Andrzejbanas (talk) 16:30, 15 December 2017 (UTC)
- On checking on Galbraith's and Kalat's source, Kalat notes he his basing his work off of the American versions of the films, while Galbraith goes between both. Galbraith states the initial film is strictly Toho (here) and the American version adds the UPA item. Nothing in the article suggests otherwise and the Galbraith source is the newest. If there are no further comments, I will change it to this. Andrzejbanas (talk) 15:46, 21 December 2017 (UTC)
- As there has been no further comment, I will change the content. Please contribute to the talk page before changing it back. Andrzejbanas (talk) 16:58, 17 April 2018 (UTC)
