A editor keeps re-adding the claim [1] that the stabbed guardsman is a Grenadier Guard. This is unsourced, and also inaccurate. As per the footnote (which they keep deleting), they're not Grenadier Guards, but Welsh Guards. This is very obvious from the uniforms worn throughout the episode.
As to claims of it being unsourced and primary in nature, the whole article is based on a primary source to a fictional TV series! Andy Dingley (talk) 16:58, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
- The footnote that you want is your personal observation and thus original research. Please provide a secondary reliable source for verification. DonQuixote (talk) 17:14, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
- Why do you keep adding a link to Grenadier Guardsman when that is both unsourced and also demonstrably inaccurate? Andy Dingley (talk) 17:25, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
- I've been reverting your original research. Change it to the generic guardsman if you want. DonQuixote (talk) 17:28, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
- That's hardly a good link either, Foot Guards#British Army is better. I'd added it as such, but you reverted that too. Andy Dingley (talk) 17:44, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
- Look, the point is, please don't add anything that involves any sort of personal analysis because that's original research. Other than that, go right ahead change it to that link. DonQuixote (talk) 17:49, 6 January 2014 (UTC)

Does it really matter? It's an extremely minor point in the episode. This likely falls under the category of bloopers, and bloopers are rarely included in good episode articles. Only if the blooper is really major or controversial, and so far this one is a negatory on both counts. Leave it as guard and stay out of unneeded specifics. -- Scorpion0422 22:00, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
A tight belt will cause one unable to even feel the stabbing?
[edit]Both Guardsman named Bainbridge and Major James Sholto were "stabbed with a stiletto-type blade beforehand, but with the military waist belt firmly holding the flesh together, the damage would not take effect until the belt loosened".
The show further explains, "Tight belt, worn high on the waist. Very easy to push a small blade through the fabric and you wouldn't even feel it."
Really? A tight belt and you will not even feel the stabbing? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Athos.jingle (talk • contribs) 02:56, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
- It's a tv show and what can or can't happen in the real world is largely irrelevant. What does happen or is said on the show is what we need to place within the plot section. However they will have technical advisors who will tell them what can & can't be done, although whether they take that advice is up to the show which is fictional. [edit]The figures quoted in the opening and later sections are contradictory (also not fitting with indications in His Last Vow) and the link from the opening section is incorrect. Can anyone clarify this? Hyperman 42 (talk) 17:25, 7 August 2021 (UTC)
