Residence
[edit]The Real World will NOT be filmed in the penthouse. Infact, it will be shot at Pier 41 in the Red Hook area of Brooklyn. The aforementioned penthouse wasn't working out for producers. #The New Location [1] User:Rlogan2 19:37, 2 August 2008
- Yes, someone tried to put that info in before. I've made an inquiry at the Reliable Sources Noticeboard to see if it's considered a reliable source. Thanks. Also, don't forget to start new discussions under a new section heading, and to sign all your posts. You can do this just by typing four tildes (~~~~) Thanks. Reliable Sources
[edit]For those of you who aren't aware, Vevmo is not considered a reliable source for Wikipedia article. Back in July, I inquired as to this on the Reliable Sources Noticeboard, and fought for it to be recognized as such, but ultimately, it was decided that it was not reliable. So no information can be used that is derived from Vevmo, even if it's repeated by another source. Nightscream (talk) 05:58, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
- It did not look like there was a vigorous discussion on the matter with the opinion of only one administrator being offered on the noticeboard and it was not like he said it could not be used - He was just offering an opinion being he was not aware that the information on Vevmo generally comes from cast members (past & present) and people in the industry. With The Island, Vevmo was 100% right on the cast and the page was actually more accurate and detailed in June when it was initially posted than now. They also named 100% accurately the cast of the Real World Hollywood four months in advance of the official announcement. Andy Dehnart (Reality blurred, MSNBC) recently used them to name The Real World Brooklyn Cast and until something better comes along I think we should too.[2] (Of course, that is just my opinion.) Neutralis (talk) 15:02, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
- I'm not aware of the exact procedure followed by the Noticeboard, so I don't know that it requires a lengthy consensus discussion the way other matters on article Talk Pages do. (Does it? I'm just asking.) For my part, you can see that I argued there that I found vevmo reliable because almost all the info they had for the cast of TRW:Hollywood turned out to be right. However, even I see that the source cited in the previous edit did not appear to be a page created by that site's webmaster, but a blog with entries by various anonymous sources. Thoughts? Is there a mechanism with which RS Noticeboard conclusions can be challenged? Nightscream (talk) 16:12, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
- I guess we can just wait on the official cast list from MTV and provide an external link for now for those that want to investigate further on their own. Neutralis (talk) 19:29, 7 November 2008 (UTC)

I believe external links are added with the same RS policy that governs other material in the article, as well as other policies specific to EL that might preclude using Vevmo. Nightscream (talk) 19:34, 7 November 2008 (UTC)
- I've looked at the EL guidelines [3]and they differ somewhat from RS requirements. We know vevmo to be solid (being they have announced accurately the casts of the last 3 real worlds and 3 challenges) and putting a good faith link to the page which gives further information would meet the requirement, "meaningful, relevant content that is not suitable for inclusion in an article, such as reviews and interviews." In a nutshell, they are the primary Real World Fan site on the internet. Neutralis (talk) 22:36, 7 November 2008 (UTC)
Trailer
[edit]I removed part about the trailer, being MTV pulled the page, so we can not link to it. Not to mention it is WP:Recentism because the trailer debut is only something that matters now (i.e. once the series starts when the trailer was aired will not matter.) I am guessing we are going to want to remove the cast list being we do not have a valid source at this time. Also, it was not said clearly that Kate was transgender (WP:BLP) and all the cast members were not actually named.) Neutralis (talk) 00:21, 8 November 2008 (UTC)
Cast table
[edit]Is it time for a cast wiki table? I see a few sources that have full details on the cast. Without last names.[4] With last names.[5] 66.186.173.180 (talk) 04:02, 5 December 2008 (UTC)
Challenge Table
[edit]Is a Column really needed for a contest that at best is 6 months away from the actual first episode? Because in all probability, they wont be on the duel 2 due simply to scheduling and they wont have a challenge for months..like 6 months almost. I just find it unnecessary at this point in time because that table will be blank for a while..--EmperorofBlackPeopleEverywhere (talk) 21:36, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
- My vote is to remove it! Plastikspork (talk) 23:20, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
- Eventually we will want such a column, but the next, next challenge is not going to be of significance until next fall (and none of the cast members were participants in The Duel II. 66.186.173.180 (talk) 16:08, 7 December 2008 (UTC)
- My feeling was that since I do most of the work on the RW season articles, and don't always have time to do such large amounts of editing, that I might as well construct the table in its eventual, final form, so that we can just fill it in with the Challenge info when such info becomes available. That way, it'll look consistent with the other seasons. I didn't want to rely on future editors to add it later, since I don't know if someone will, and once noticed that someone screwed up the table when they tried to alter it, and left it that way. I just figured this would be easier, and be less to the think about. I don't see how it takes up "wasted space". Nightscream (talk) 16:45, 7 December 2008 (UTC)
- I am fine with that logic. 66.186.173.180 (talk) 19:02, 7 December 2008 (UTC)
- I see what you're saying I just didn't really see the point to do it at this particular junction..But it's whatever I don't mind leaving it how it is. I just thought it was kind of unneeded. and i apologize Nightscream if I offended you by calling it wasted space, it clearly didn't convey the meaning that I had behind it. Cheers!--EmperorofBlackPeopleEverywhere (talk) 21:21, 7 December 2008 (UTC)
No, no, not at all. Don't worry about it. I'm actually glad that more people who seem to have some cogent ideas and opinions seem to be taking an interest in editing TRW articles. Happy Holidays. :-) Nightscream (talk) 00:25, 8 December 2008 (UTC)
- Fine with me either way. Plastikspork (talk) 01:27, 8 December 2008 (UTC)
Sarah's background
[edit]Sarah was never sexually abused by her father. She admits herself multiple times that nothing happened, but it "almost did." It seems not only inaccurate but wrong to accuse somebody of sexual abuse when they are innocent. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.80.179.67 (talk) 06:06, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks, I've corrected it. For future reference, you can sign your posts by typing four tildes (~~~~) at the end of them. Nightscream (talk) 21:22, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
error
[edit]There are 13 one hour episodes, not 12.
