Real World colors?
[edit]A question has arisen on WP:RD/E about the color coding in cast lists. I saw you added it to The Real World: Washington D.C., sometime last summer I think it was. Can you tell us what the colors indicate, if anything? ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 04:46, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
- OK, would it be fair to say that although you were inspired by other articles, you chose those colors mainly because they looked good? ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 01:08, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
- OK, thanks. I'll report that and they can read our comments if they care to. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 01:30, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
- Maybe you could go to WP:RD/E and discuss it there? It doesn't really matter to me, I'm just curious. The original poster wanted to know what the colors meant, and in effect they mean nothing. I've seen some tables with colors (usually a little more toward the pastel) and then I've seen lame debates over what the colors should be. Me, I don't care, as long as I can read it. But stop by the Entertainment ref desk, if you care to, and weigh in. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 01:50, 30 January 2010 (UTC)

EU worlds largest economy
[edit]I saw you disagree with the EUs position in the list of GDP Nominal by countries. Well to be honest mate, it doesn’t have a ranking, and is only there for reference and the fact its a very unique economic and political block.
The United Kingdom is a union of 4 countries. However the UK is listed The USA is a Union of 50 states, however the USA is listed.
Ok, I know you don’t like that, however the USA stared of as 14 British colonies, each different and independently ruled, however these 14 colonies also shared 1 common political and economic ruler-ship (like the EU and UK).
However after independence the USA was formed, which marked an era when all 14 colonies were fully united under one government etc
The EU just hasn’t got that far yet, the EU is in the same boots the 14 American colonies were during the war of independence.
So my point is, the USA is a continental Union of 50 states, each has a Governor (like every EU state has a prime minister or president) And all 50 states are united and share one Government (just like the 27 EU nations are united and share one Parliament).
The difference is the EU is made up of sovereign nations like the UK, and there is a big difference between a state and a nation. Hence the USAs 50 states were ale to unite and become one nation. (Because you were founded as 14 colonies who break away from an empire).
The EU and UK can never become one country, because each country is well a sovereign country. The best thing to describe them is Empire, however in this day and age with democracy Empire is an evil thing.
Believe it or not, the UK is in truth an English Empire united under acts of union. The EU is an Empire, only our day and age means no one uses the name ‘Empire’ any more.
This Brings me to the British Empire, the British Empire was not a country, yet its GDP was the largest in the world for 100s of years.
The EU is similar yet totally different from the British Empire, UK or USA, they are all unions, but the world has never seen any-thing like the EU before. It is the way of the future, and in reality it has already removed the USA as the lone superpower and indeed most powerful entity on earth.
Asian century my ass, it’s the European century again. Europe has ruled the world for the last 4,000+ years and Europe has been the centre of the world for longer than that. Only from 1945 – around 2001 was Europe perhaps over taken by the USA and for a while Russia, but only due to 2 massive world wars which brought the mighty British, French and German empires to their knees. But 60 or so years is such a small space of time in 4,000+ years of glorious history.
200 years from now, this short period of time will only be remembered as a time when the USA (which is in reality a Europe over seas) managed to Rule the world while the Great European Superpowers were at their weakest due to two massive world wars.
See History is pigeon holed, time gets blurred, and the USA rose to power after the Mighty British Empire which was the largest and most powerful in history, the a 60 year gap of American dominance, and then the new rebuilt European Powers Under the European Union Superpower which will just and today does eclipse the USA.
Just look back to the Roman Empire, it dominated history, when it fell, there was a dark age, and a few powers rose and fell, But who ever they were people rarely know, then all of a sudden more Great European Power emerge such as Spain, France, England, Holy roman Empire etc
UK is like the Roman Empire, USA like the small space of the dark ages, then the EU and China are the like the sudden rise of new European Superpowers.
History doesn’t remember the powers who ruled in the dark ages, and neither will the remember today’s shot reign of the USA for 60 or so years.
So well done USA, you ruled a world for 60 years after it was destroyed by 2 massive world wars. Haha what an achievement, haha but sorry, history wont really remember you.
EU has already risen above and over shadowed the USA, in a few years this will become obvious, the Euro is already become the currency for oil, and its both stronger in value and supports and economy far superior to the USAs.
10 years from now you will see ; )

Dude, I was bull shiting, I just hate it when americans dis the EU. and its not becuase i like the EU! I fucking hate it. and hope one day EU fails and UK gets free.
UK has a blue water navy and actualy the F-35 is a joint US/UK project. UK sends troops all over the world, just look at the 2003 Iraq invasion, 47,000 British troops invaded Iraq along side 210,000+ US troops.
good day and please forgive my stupid commnent Rademire (talk) 10:52, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
Can the EU be said to have a 'geography'?
