Request for discussion: sourcing for cast

[edit]

I am concerned that multiple actors have been and continue to be added to the "Cast" section, but no sources are cited to verify their appearance in the film or the name of the role. As everyone knows (or should know), Verifiability is one of Wikipedia's most important policies. It says:

Please immediately remove contentious material about living people that is unsourced or poorly sourced.

I invite editors to comment here on reliable sources that can be used to verify the appearance of these actors and their roles in this film. Unsourced entries will be removed in accordance with WP:V.  — Archer (t·c) 02:50, 22 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@RangersRus:@Ravensfire:@Kailash29792:@Mushy Yank: Several members of the cast are not confirmed especially Sanjay Dutt and Sai Pallavi and the film is not releasing for a while. Is this article necessary or can it be in draft for the time being? The glimpse only credits Prabhas for the cast. Why is such a high profile film a stub?
If you want to keep the article,
  1. Expand the article.
  2. Source every cast member. DareshMohan (talk) 21:23, 8 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Upcoming film, so yes, all cast members should be sourced. In addition, does this article meet WP:NFF? Is the production itself notable? If it's not, draftify it, or if it's already been a draft once, AFD it with a preference for draft until it's been accepted. Ravensfire (talk) 21:40, 8 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello,
Currently mentioned announced cast members are sourced, unless I missed something. Remove those you think need to be removed or indicate ”announced” somewhere, if you wish. Indeed a high profile film, so I would keep this as a page on an acceptable upcoming film, given the existing coverage regarding production, but it cannot stay indefinitely with a notability tag on it, so feel free to redirect or draft it if you think it's insufficient. I won’t edit the page myself in the near future; no time. Thanks. -My, oh my! (Mushy Yank) 22:23, 8 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Right now, that is the only thing that would be notable about this film - the production itself. The film doens't exist yet, so it's WP:CRYSTAL. There's very little information about the production itself in the article right now. A cast list != production information. Shrug - I'm not going to do anything like move to draft or AFD - not worth the arguments that would come from that. Ravensfire (talk) 04:10, 9 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I am not very sure I understand why you replied this to me, nor gave a shrug: I invited DareshMohan, or anyone interested, to redirect or Draft it if they wish to do so; however, I explained why I would rather keep it (I think production is notable enough), and the page, if indeed it is kept now, cannot stay indefinitely with a notability tag on it, because that tag indicates a serious issue, which, if everyone else agrees that the said issue is real, should be addressed. So what can be done, in my view, is either remove the tag and expand/leave the page until release, or redirect/draft it. The current state of the page and the notability of the film are two different things. Feel free to expand it if you think the size of the article is a problem (I don't). I won't edit the page myself in the near future, nor will I make further comments here, I think. Thank you. -My, oh my! (Mushy Yank) 09:06, 9 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Move it to Draft because its too early and the film has not reached post production. RangersRus (talk) 22:29, 8 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The film was rated as a start not stub (by me, maybe?), btw. But feel free to rate it as a stub rather, if you think that’s what it is. It’s a small start, but given the number of sources, I can understand it’s considered a start, not a stub (especially if I am the one who rated it, :D) -My, oh my!
