[edit]Please add any new character information here, [[List of characters
There's still a wealth of guest-stars, not to mention these recurring characters:
- Papi(Suga Mama's boyfriend), - Mr.Chips(Oscar's monkey & taster), - Felix & Sunset Boulevardez(Lacienaga's parents), - Rosemary, Basil, Nutmeg, Ginger, Paprika, Cinnamon, Tabasco,Oran, Cayenne et al(Dijonay's siblings), - the Chang triplets, - the Gross sisters(Nubia, Olay & Gina), - Bobby Proud(Oscar's brother), - Michael, the "sissy", - Wizard Kelly(Oscar Proud's rival),

Granted, but it still says that the show is "The only one to have the most guest stars." This doesn't make any sense. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.224.58.200 (talk) 20:02, 5 July 2008 (UTC)
Bebe
[edit]Does anyone think Bebe a reference to Bebe's Kids. After all the director of Bebe's Kids is the creator of the Proud Family. - 99.245.149.171 02:42, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
Maybe Bebe Proud is named after a distant member of The Proud Family with a connection to Bebe's Kids? Between the motion picture Bebe's Kids and The Proud Family episode titled Behind The Family Lines, it's definitely worth researching! Malestrom (talk) 21:43, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
- The other one of the twins is named CeCe, making it more likely these two probably inspired the names (though your suggestion may be valid). WAVY 10 Fan (talk) 18:13, 20 July 2008 (UTC)
criticism?
[edit]I'm sure a show such as this has drawn some criticism, deserving or not. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.93.197.41 (talk) 19:29, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
THis show is inaccurate. For example in one episode they call a karate teacher "sifu". But sifu is the chinese term for master, not japanese! The correct term should be Sensei. And the fact that the teacher asked the kids to call him that is just stupid! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Heman21 (talk • contribs) 23:54, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
Karate is indigenously Ryukyun and heavily influenced by Chinese martial arts; the Japanese characters for karate that originally meant "Chinese hand" were changed to mean "empty hand" in 1935 due to anti-Chinese political sentiments...so it is entirely plausible for a Chinese martial arts master to be teaching karate(and to request for a Chinese designation instead of a Japanese one).Malestrom (talk) 20:47, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
Trudy makes more than Oscar?
[edit]Has this actually been established on the show? I find it hard to believe that a man who owns his own snack company makes less than a veterinarian. And for crying out loud, Trudy Proud was NEVER depicted as being anything but black. Please keep your racial identity issues off WP. StopSQLiquor (talk) 21:50, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
Using payscale.com, salaries for veterinarians range from $50,000 to $80,000/year for different lengths of experience; combined with the fact that Oscar has always been portrayed as a failing and unsuccessful snack-company owner(with crazy flavours that almost nobody likes) who has yet to break into the local & regional markets, nevermind the national or international markets...I think that it's pretty much assumed to be a given by the audience that Trudy is the money-maker of the Proud family.Malestrom (talk) 20:27, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
I think it is established in a couple episodes that she does make more money. I'm pretty sure that in at least one of the countless scenes where Penny asks for money, Oscar refuses, and Trudy gives it to her, she at least implies that she makes more. I don't remember any specifics behind this, though... 68.80.152.247 (talk) 07:30, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
In Episode 1 of Season 2, "A Star is Scorned," Oscar refuses to move into the mansion Penny has bought, saying that he'd rather stay in the house "that Proud snacks bought." Trudy replies flatly, "Proud Snacks may have paid a power bill or two, but let's not get crazy." This seems to imply that Trudy is the family's primary source of income, and what money Oscar makes from Proud Snacks (which have consistently been shown as being disgusting and it's presumable that they don't sell well) is supplemental. Possible copyright violation
[edit]Character bios were all lifted from The Proud Family Wiki on wikia.com. For example: Penny Proud. Edit dates are all earlier than creation of this page's content. Wikia's licensing is CC-BY-SA 3.0. This is the same license as Wikipedia's, but it requires attribution and that was not given. Possibly if we attribute all these edits then we can restore the text. Elizium23 (talk) 05:10, 14 January 2011 (UTC)
- What we can do is trim the bios and leave only descriptions of the characters in a non-in universe style. But I'm against reverting to a separate list. --LoЯd ۞pεth 02:31, 15 January 2011 (UTC)
- Since they are copyright violations, they either need to be attributed to the author or removed entirely and start over. There is no support for a separate list, since we don't have the content for it. Elizium23 (talk) 18:57, 15 January 2011 (UTC)
- I retrieved a version from the article List of characters in The Proud Family, which is more complete in terms of cast, and does not have reiteration of plot which violates WP:WAF, plus being WP:COPYVIO]. --LoЯd ۞pεth 20:57, 15 January 2011 (UTC)
Content
[edit]I think this article is quite poorly written...so I will be editing it ever so often. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Discovermine (talk • contribs) 21:27, 25 February 2011 (UTC)
New articles?
[edit]I think the characters section should only have the main characters, including Penny's friends (and probably the Gross sisters). There's definitely too many details for the main article of the actual show. A new article should be created as a list of characters of the original show for more information about the main characters and the rest of the characters in the series. Also, I would consider a new article for the soundtrack of the series so the article is consistent and doesn't have a lot of information in one article. Kim Possible even had a List of characters article and the soundtrack article if you know what I'm talking about. I'm currently still developing on the main article at this time...
