- ... that "The Present Crisis", a poem by James Russell Lowell, inspired the name of The Crisis, the magazine of the NAACP?
- ALT1:... that "The Present Crisis" by James Russell Lowell has been called a "poetic anthem" for the American antislavery movement?

- strictly this is an expansion not a creation nomination, but the fivefold expansion checks out anyway. Article shows no obvious copyvio signs. Hooks are both fine, interesting, but would recommend that NAACP is linked if the first is used as it may be unclear to many readers what that is. QPQ appears to be outstanding. - Hello, The Rambling Man, thank you for taking the time to look. Can you clarify, as I'm unaware, what is the difference that makes this an expansion nom vs. a creation nom? Also, not sure what QPQ means. --Midnightdreary (talk) 14:42, 14 February 2021 (UTC)
- You didn't create the article but you did expand it sufficiently. QPQ means a review quid pro quo - have you nominated at DYK before? The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 15:27, 14 February 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you for the response. I haven't nominated a DYK in many, many years. Is only the article creator supposed to nominate now? --Midnightdreary (talk) 01:24, 15 February 2021 (UTC)
- No not at all, you just selected "Created" as the option, whereas it was "Expanded" really. Not that it matters, as I said. So if you haven't done DYK for a while, we now expect people to do a QPQ review of another nomination. But if you have nominated fewer than five DYKs, that requirement doesn't apply. - That's very helpful, thank you. I didn't even notice that there was a way to select create/expand options. I've never reviewed a DYK before but I've definitely nominated more than five (23, actually... but, like I said, not in many years). Not sure I'm comfortable doing any reviews. If that's an expectation, I would withdraw this nomination. --Midnightdreary (talk) 13:45, 15 February 2021 (UTC)
- Midnightdreary I'm afraid it's a requirement of the process nowadays. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 08:14, 18 February 2021 (UTC)
- The Rambling Man: because I want this to run on the MP, and I appreciate the work that has been put in, I'm donating Template:Did you know nominations/Laos at the 2012 Summer Olympics as a QPQ. Eddie891 Talk Work 16:36, 18 February 2021 (UTC)
- very decent of you Eddie891, so all that remains is for the promoter to select which hook works best for the set and if the first, whether or not to link NAACP (of which many people will not have heard).
