Page references
[edit]There are evidently a number of different editions this biography with differing page numbers. The NY Times 1981 Moses obituary gives it as 1246 pages. The current Amazon editions list the hardcover at 1336 pages and the paperback at 1344 pages. So for accuracy, comments on page number should list which edition is being used. --Blainster 17:19, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
There needs to be citation to the changes in criticism of the book in regards to Moses' power in 1960s. Otherwise it will need to be deleted. Brandonmusic (talk) 03:52, 6 July 2015 (UTC)

Source for New Yorker excerpt of "One Mile" chapter
[edit]The article mentions:
"The Power Broker generated substantial public discussion upon publication, especially after the "One Mile" chapter ran as an excerpt in The New Yorker."
I just tried hard finding this excerpt, but the article linked doesn't even mention the word "Tremont" or very much about the content of that chapter at all...
Here is the full series by Caro in the New Yorker at the time:
The third one is given as a source, but none of them talk in any depth about the chapter or its contents, from what I can tell.
Does anyone know which article or part is meant here? DaDaDaan (talk) 09:01, 8 November 2024 (UTC)
- It doesn't look like it was ever directly sourced. I'd remove it. Courtesy ping @Daniel Case, in case you recall your source. czar 15:29, 8 November 2024 (UTC)
- Yes, I wrote most of the article at a time when we weren't so strict about sourcing. While I was sure at the time that I'd read that somewhere reliable, I don't remember where and if the New Yorker's own archives don't back this up, there's no reason to keep saying it.
