[edit]This article reads worse than a 5th grade book report. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.248.147.230 (talk) 23:49, 29 January 2011 (UTC)
Nazi Snowman
[edit]I have heard that there is a swathsika (bad spelling, I know) on the snowman in both the book and movie...I'm sure it can be verified, but...should it be added? —Preceding unsigned comment added by D33PPURPLE (talk • contribs) 20:51, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
to add
[edit]critical reception, was it a sucess, make money etc
I don't understand the concept of making a video game out of a movie like this. What's the point? 4.159.113.75 21:09, 3 December 2005 (UTC)
To make money by any means possible User:KinseyLOL
the hobo
[edit]This mightn`t be the right site to ask questions, but: What is the concept/ thought behind the hobo in the movie? He seems to symbolise something, but I for some reason can't quite figure What it is... and ideas?
I always thought that he symbolized that anybody can believe in the spirit of Xmas.01:06, 10 December 2007 (UTC)Hyung-Qing Hong
uncanny valley
[edit]can anyone say uncanny valley? User:88.105.115.214 07:00, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, I canny. Now, canny you say, "What has this got to do with The Polar Express?" Wahkeenah 07:15, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
- It refers to human's reactions to representations of things that appear human, but aren't. I'm assuming the anon. user is referring to the photorealism of the characters in the movie. Of course, if any mention of the Uncanny Valley appears in the article, it would have to be sourced. (My husband works for a video game company, and I'm faintly disturbed that I knew what the Uncanny Valley was without having to look it up.) Joyous | Talk 14:27, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
"Polar Express"?
[edit]Does the author of the book know that there really are trains that pass the Arctic Circle? I have been on one myself, on a trip from Kolari to Helsinki. JIP | Talk 08:19, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
Also needed
[edit]we need the little box on the bottom that shows that it won the caldecott medal and what book won the year before and after. (just like in make way for ducklings) Bonus Onus 02:12, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
Famous quote?
[edit]The article says that the book/film ends with a famous quote. Quoting what? Not famous here. 121.218.136.118 (talk) 11:25, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
Oscar nominated film
[edit]While this line is technically accurate "was adapted as an Oscar-nominated motion-capture film" I'm not sure it's appropriate. It gives off that it was a highly reviewed movie, when in reality it got mixed reviews and its Oscar nominations are in sound categories and best song. Does "Oscar-nominated" add value to the sentence?

Suggestion for Film Adaptation Section
[edit]The "Film Adaptation" section does not currently have any sources for where the information in the section came from. Sources should be added for where that information was found. Some additional information could also be added regarding the general reception and critical reception of the movie that is not just the box office earnings.
