Lineups
[edit]Need some clarification on their different lineups - Miro and Olenar are the only consistent members from 1980 to the present. Leslie Spring was guitarist on Desperate Children. Peter G Werner 04:58, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
Manchester UK "The Nuns"
[edit]On March 5, User:146.87.193.151 blanked this page and wrote an entry on a contemporary Manchester UK band also called The Nuns. Unfortunately, it took two weeks before anybody noticed and reverted these edits. I had considered taking the pre-reverted article and putting it in its own article, however, based on internet searches on this band, they seem to have only been in existence since 2005, have only one EP released, and are only mentioned on a few internet sites. This leads me to believe that this band simply does not meet the criteria of WP:NOTABILITY and no new article should be created for them. The band that this article is about, the early California punk/new wave band, was of course quite notable in the early history of California punk. Peter G Werner 02:59, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
Removed erroneous statment
[edit]"[Delphine Naid] was Jennifer Miro's girlfriend at that time"
I removed the above, as it is essentially unsourced gossip, and I believe is based on a misinterpretation of a statement on this webpage. If you read the web page carefully, you'll see its another person – not Jennifer Miro – referring to Delphine as a "girlfriend" at the time of her death. Peter G Werner 15:17, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
Copy Paste?
[edit]Much of this article is directly copied from source #1 here & must instead be rewritten in original text. I worked on it a little before discovering that, but I am working on another similar problem right now & haven't time to do that rewrite myself, so perhaps some of the regular editors here can find time to address that, please. duff 02:47, 27 June 2011 (UTC)
- I think you are mistaken. You've come across one of the many sites that often copies much of its content from Wikipedia. Peter G Werner (talk) 05:14, 9 January 2012 (UTC)
Jennifer has passed away
[edit]She passed away last night after a short and valiant battle with cancer. I'm not putting it in the article because I don't have a citation, but it will come up. Found out from my friend who lives in her building. -Etoile ✩ (talk) 02:52, 18 December 2011 (UTC)
- I came across news of this on IMDB while doing research toward improving this article: [1]. I won't add it based on this source either, since IMDB has been known to be unreliable. I find it odd that there has been no obituary, anywhere. In any event, I have noticed that there has been no activity from The Nuns since the mid-2000s, hence, I will probably change language in the article as to the band being currently active, even if I cannot definitively find a date when the band stopped being active. Peter G Werner (talk) 13:19, 25 December 2011 (UTC)
- Confirmed in SF Weekly: [2]. Looks like that's already been added to the article. Peter G Werner (talk) 04:43, 9 January 2012 (UTC)
Reverted a few edits
[edit]I reverted a few edits because they broke the layout. They added/removed/replaced the names "Dale baltzer", "Michael Saintt George", "Brian Knott" and "Brian Knotts". I don't know much about this band so I'll leave it to someone else to put names back if needed.. W3ird N3rd (talk) 10:48, 22 June 2017 (UTC)
