What kind of doctor is Matthew?
[edit]He insists he's a doctor. OK he's not a physician, but is he a psychologist? 99.149.194.53 (talk) 02:36, 21 October 2010 (UTC)Vera Ferguson
He dropped out of med school. He is a therapist, it doesn't specify what type of therapist he is. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Apmb99 (talk • contribs) 17:47, 23 March 2011 (UTC)
Why was episode listing removed?
[edit]- Is there a reason the episode listing was removed and never replaced? -Seinfreak37 18:18, 16 May 2006 (UTC)
Out of order
[edit]- Episode 9 introduced Christine's son Ritchie to his father's new girlfriend, the new Christine. In earlier episodes, they had already met and spent time together, so it appears CBS misplaced this episode.
- It's pretty common for a network to air the first season of a new show out of order in order to quickly introduce the characters to the audience, even if it means messing up the chronoligical order. -Seinfreak37 18:18, 16 May 2006 (UTC)

Racism
[edit]In one episode, Christine says : "We're both white so it can't be racist" what is that about. -— Preceding unsigned comment added by 144.133.93.100 (talk)
Uhh... I think that's obvious. She means that, being white, nothing she says about a white person can possibly be racist.
Cancellation/Save show
[edit]Should this article mention anything about CBS' wanting to cancel the show, or the online "Save Christine" petition campaign? Steveo2 11:12, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
The show was cancelled in 2010 at the end of season 5 by CBS with hopes of being picked up by ABC to start season 6. The show was not picked up by ABC or by any other network. [1] — Preceding unsigned comment added by Apmb99 (talk • contribs) 18:02, 23 March 2011 (UTC)
I think CBS is incredibly stupid to cancel any show at 88 episodes. Sure, the ratings were in decline, but surely those ratings were high enough to pay for a final half-season that would take it above 100 episodes and into syndication. Once in syndication they'd manage to rake in a massive amount of income for the channel. It's like giving up at mile marker 25 on a marathon, with the prospect of winning a million bucks if you finish. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.155.157.59 (talk) 07:43, 19 April 2012 (UTC)
Airdate
[edit]Does anyone know when this show comes on? The CBS link says Mondays at 8:30, but some dumb geek show comes on at the time after "How I met your mother." —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.89.0.29 (talk) 15:49, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Am I the only one who finds the show just too close to Reba (TV series) regarding its main theme – while, of course, much funnier and better written? --62.214.240.33 (talk) 21:11, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
immigration?
[edit]why is there all that extra information about same-sex couples and not being valid for preventing deportation? it doesn't seem relevant to the article at all 4.239.249.6 (talk) 22:03, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
Barb and Christine got married to keep Barb in the country....or she would have been deported back to the Bahamas. Doing so costed the two in losing ownership of their gym, so they divorced and Barb married Richard to avoid being deported. [edit]The finale featured Jason Alexander, as the episode set up a Seinfeld Reunion. Did I miss something?--70.157.34.59 (talk) 18:23, 31 December 2008 (UTC)

Show name
[edit]As a new season will arrive, should we now refer to the early seasons as "The old adventures of new Christine"? (ha-ha...) Aediasse (talk) 01:21, 20 June 2009 (UTC) Seeing as the main character is still "old" Christine Campbell, no. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.108.131.124 (talk) 04:26, 3 May 2010 (UTC)
Recently divorced single mother
[edit]The first line of the article describes it as "comedy series starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus as a recently divorced single mother." She's not a single mother, she's a divorced mother. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 155.91.28.232 (talk) 18:16, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
...and she is now single since none of her relationships work, so.... yes she is. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Apmb99 (talk • contribs) 18:10, 23 March 2011 (UTC)
Wikiproject for this article.
[edit]I need a lesson. I wonder how editors get together to make their own WikiProject. So far, there's very little expansion but hopefully I'll get a better chance at working at this article. Not much else to say but I like to learn how that works. That's all really.
Thanks. Johnnyauau2000 (talk) 16:52, 25 January 2011 (UTC)
Breaking the Seinfeld Curse
[edit]This show stayed on the air for five seasons, winning Emmys and critical acclaim, and broke the so-called "Seinfeld Curse", wherein a show starring Louise-Dreyfus, Jason Alexander or Michael Richards would be cancelled quickly. Should this be mentioned somewhere? I'm sure there's people or sources to quote. Like Louise-Dreyfus' "I don't beleive in curses, but curse this!" at the Emmys? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.117.29.28 (talk) 00:50, 13 February 2011 (UTC)
EDITS TO MAIN CAST SECTION
[edit]In the Main Cast section, there are several references that should be reworded or removed. It almost sounds like a plot summary with sentences like, Christene recently did this, or Christene is currently dating whoever. The Main Cast section should just be about character traits, not a small plot summary of that week's episode. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.15.30.125 (talk) 22:17, 21 July 2011 (UTC)

"Disbandment" vs "Cancellation"
[edit]A user identified only by IP address (most recently, Special:Contributions/97.115.222.52) has been repeatedly changing references from cancellation to "disbandment". They did so back in late April 2020 and they've done so twice this week. I have now reverted these edits twice and do not want to get into an edit war with this person. So, I have created this section on the Talk page for them to make a case for using the unconventional term, "disbandment." --Jeremy Butler (talk) 22:49, 19 May 2020 (UTC)
- This user is also doing the same with the term disbanded on the article for Yes, Dear RedPatchBoys (talk) 22:40, 25 May 2020 (UTC)
- The user's IP address has been blocked from editing, but is now back as Special:Contributions/2601:1C0:6902:64D0:DC36:684E:C9D5:31F5. --Jeremy Butler (talk) 11:39, 3 June 2020 (UTC)
- The same user is up to their old tricks at a new IP address: Special:Contributions/2601:1C0:6902:64D0:D193:9F71:38E9:4839. This time they are editing the article for Julia Louis-Dreyfus. --Jeremy Butler (talk) 12:04, 14 June 2020 (UTC)
- The same user is also using Special:Contributions/2601:1C0:6902:64D0:1077:B4BD:537D:D249 and Special:Contributions/2601:1C0:6902:64D0:50FB:9C1E:A3D4:8E79 on the various season pages The New Adventures of Old Christine (season 1) as well as season 2, 3, and 4 to insist on putting red links on some episode titles. Was doing the same with the previous IP. RedPatchBoys (talk) 13:33, 14 June 2020 (UTC)
- And also, as Special:Contributions/2601:1C0:6902:64D0:3D64:E961:9AEA:2A6B, they are editing Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Kari Lizer. They have edited other NAOC cast members' articles, but without adding "disbandment" to them. --Jeremy Butler (talk) 11:16, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
- I have reported their activities to User talk:GeneralNotability, who banned the original IP address. Should this activity be reported elsewhere? Jeremy Butler (talk) 11:23, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
- Same editor used Special:Contributions/2601:1C0:6902:64D0:3D64:E961:9AEA:2A6B to disruptively edit Kari Lizer. It appears to me that IP range 2601:1C0:6902:64D0:*:*:*:* needs to be blocked. Jeremy Butler (talk) 11:06, 17 June 2020 (UTC)
- Deepfriedokra has given them another week off. GeneralNotability (talk) 00:29, 18 June 2020 (UTC)
- The user has returned as Special:Contributions/2601:1C0:6902:64D0:38D2:2E66:DEDD:3A21. I found and reverted their edits on
- GeneralNotability and Deepfriedokra: Can you investigate?--Jeremy Butler (talk) 11:37, 25 June 2020 (UTC)
- Well, the thing to do is report at WP:AIV. --Deepfriedokra (talk) 11:42, 25 June 2020 (UTC)
