Ukip

[edit]

@Hallen01: Why did you remove Ukip from the list? Histogenea22 (talk) 21:51, 23 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I'd imagine that the previous revision, from the same user, explains that. Ralbegen (talk) 22:50, 23 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

term "far-right" once again left-wing smear

[edit]

When did you call Socialists, Greens and other left-wingers "far-left"? Come on, these are conservative, patrotic and populist forces.

Be more neutral and rely less on left-wing newspapers.

A lot of socialists and greens are not "far-left", though. Some are, but those are ideologies which spread out across much of the "left-wing" spectrum. Midnightblueowl (talk) 11:59, 6 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Hi,
"When did you call Socialists, Greens and other left-wingers "far-left"?"
→ "The far-left GUE group was attempting to collect enough signatures to introduce a censure motion last week, but failed. GUE refused to sign the EFDD’s petition, saying they would not collaborate with the far-right." https://www.politico.eu/article/far-right-beats-far-left-to-juncker-censure-motion/
Note that GUE group is different from Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats. That might be reason to say the first one is far left and the second one is just left.
"Come on, these are conservative, patrotic and populist forces."
→ This is not all that simple, because words need to be specific.
conservative is yet the identity of European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) and European Conservatives
populist is yet the identity of European People's Party (EPP)
patriotic is yet the identity of Europe of Nations and Freedom
Might be some far-right political parties want to be rebranded as conservative, patrotic and populist forces, in such a case it is not just a question of being more neutral.
«After a survey of the academic literature, Mudde concluded in 2002 that the terms "right-wing extremism", "right-wing populism", "national populism", or "neo-populism" were often used as synonyms by scholars, in any case with "striking similarities", except notably among a few authors studying the extremist-theoretical tradition.» Far-right politics — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:8425:642:D701:BF55:9F65:2A1C:85EB (talk) 18:39, 25 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

How big is the staff?

[edit]

There's a sentence in the lede that says that the group was expected to hire 10 staff members by the 23 May 2019 European election. Did that happen? How big is the staff now? I can't find any information on that. --ESP (talk) 19:25, 23 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
