Plot
[edit]The present summary is almost ludicrously inaccurate: there is a better one on the German page.--Hors-la-loi 22:15, 26 November 2012 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hors-la-loi (talk • contribs) The film clearly states that it is set in an Argentinian town near the Paraguayan border, a police car is inscribed "Policia de Corrientes". --Jost Riedel (talk) 18:16, 26 December 2019 (UTC)
- I agree with @Jost Riedel:'s remarks about the plot summary. In addition, the idea that Fortnum "is working to prevent a revolution" is ridiculous. Not only is no revolution even hinted at, it would be completely out of character for Fortnum to try to prevent it.
- I will have a shot at expanding the summary (unless any other editor would prefer to do so.) Mike Marchmont (talk) 15:55, 13 March 2023 (UTC)
- I have now added a proper plot summary. Mike Marchmont (talk) 09:27, 14 March 2023 (UTC)
- While I did not find the word "Corrientes" in Graham Greene's book, the geographical details given - from the name of the province on the other side of the river down to the names of the street a car takes - clearly describe Corrientes. Jost Riedel (talk) 09:14, 1 May 2023 (UTC)
- @Jost Riedel:, I don't have a searchable copy of the book to hand. But I did see your mention of Corrientes on the police car (above); and the town is also mentioned in the Wikipedia article about the book. Mike Marchmont (talk) 15:57, 1 May 2023 (UTC)
