Fair use rationale for Image:TGOL-Santana.jpg

[edit]

Image:TGOL-Santana.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

The following discussion is an archived discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: page not moved: plain name as disambig (which has 4 choices). Anthony Appleyard (talk) 21:56, 1 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The Game of Love (Santana song)The Game of Love – The song appears to be the PRIMARYTOPIC. The song had about three times more traffic than the album despite having the disambiguator, even though the album is a few years newer. The song is also much more popular, at least in the English-speaking world. –CWenger (^@) 02:54, 17 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The Game of Love (Santana and Michelle Branch song)The Game of Love (Santana song) – Michelle Branch is a featured artist, she is not credited to be in a duet. --Relisted. George Ho (talk) 21:34, 26 October 2014 (UTC) © Tbhotch (en-2.5). 22:00, 18 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment - the song was moved to 22:12, 1 June 2011‎ CWenger to Talk:The Game of Love (song): "additional disambiguator not needed and Michelle Branch was a major part of it)," contrary above RM result, so Michelle Branch was considered "a major part of it" by mover. Personally no opinion between (Santana song) or (Santana and Michelle Branch song). In ictu oculi (talk) 23:07, 18 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Being a "major part of it" (comment by an user, not a music critic), and legally being credited as a duet, are two different things. Unless anyone finds evidence this is a duet, there is no reason to classify it as a duet. © Tbhotch (en-2.5). 23:39, 19 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment only. Checking the links, one site listed as a Santana and Branch song, two sites as Santana featuring Branch, and the Billboard entry for Branch doesn't list the song at all. In spite of this I am not convinced removing Michelle Branch serves any beneficial purpose as she appears to have been marketing as part the single. --Richhoncho (talk) 11:11, 23 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. The topic of the article is The Game of Love. The disambiguator is only there because there's more than one topic by that name, and if it weren't for those others we would just call the article The Game of Love. We need a disambiguator in this case, but we don't need to put the whole article lead there! Santana song is quite adequate. Andrewa (talk) 07:09, 26 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose - I didn't want to vote because I relisted it. However, I will say no to removing "Michelle Branch". Despite the circumstances, Branch sang the whole lyrics. --George Ho (talk) 02:03, 30 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The Game of Love (Santana and Michelle Branch song)The Game of Love (Santana song) – Per before we don't credit featured artists, no matter how much they contribute, for example Category:David Guetta songs (all the "David Guetta and X" are DJs too, featured vocalists are not included: Sun Goes Down (David Guetta and Showtek song), not Sun Goes Down (David Guetta, Showtek, Magic! and Sonny Wilson song)). Further, consensus at "Diamonds" denoted what I said before, yet this was not supported here. © Tbhotch (en-2.5). 04:46, 1 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
