Date of First Daily Newspaper Incorrect
[edit]The article says that The Delaware Gazette published its first edition as a daily newspaper on January 10, 1884. This can't be right. When my great great grandfather died, his obit was published in Delaware, Ohio, on 13 Sep 1904 in what was called Semi-Weekly Gazette. It was published only twice a week, I believe on Tuesdays and Fridays. (If it had been a daily newspaper by that date, I doubt it would have been called Semi-Weekly Gazette.)
When my great grandfather died, his obit was published on 15 Mar 1937 in The Delaware Gazette.
Microfiche of the old Semi-Weekly Gazette and the later The Delaware Gazette is available at the Delaware County District Library.
