Strikes
[edit]- # The Caves of Androzani was not the first Doctor Who
- story to be adversely affected by the industrial strikes
- of the late 1970s and 1980s.
Does this note really belong on this story page? It seems more about Resurrection and Shada than Androzani. --Whouk (talk) 20:36, 13 December 2005 (UTC)
- Well, it does include it in a general sense, lumping it with the others. The note is a little long and involved, though. I've cut it down. --khaosworks (talk • contribs) 22:31, 13 December 2005 (UTC)
Premonition?!
[edit]When the Doctor is in the control room of Stotz's ship, he apparently has a premonition of his coming regeneration when he sees the same patterns as at the story's conclusion.
Is there any evidence of this, or even that we are seeing things through the Doctor's eyes? I've always thought this was just an unfortunate effect of a time and money constrained show recycling the same video effect. Timrollpickering 00:14, 25 January 2006 (UTC)
- I've certainly always thought of it as either a premonition or the temporary "holding back" of his regeneration. --Whouk (talk) 06:50, 25 January 2006 (UTC)
- Does the novelisation (which I've never read) shed any light on this? --khaosworks (talk • contribs) 07:25, 25 January 2006 (UTC)
- I seem to remember Harper mentioning it on the DVD commentary, but it's a while since I've listened to it so I could be mistaken. Angmering 07:34, 25 January 2006 (UTC)
- This has been here for over a year now and the comment has since been removed; could somebody confirm this by checking the DVD commentary? A wikipedia member with an awful username 01:53, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
- It's not mentioned on the DVD commentary. Timrollpickering 10:46, 22 June 2007 (UTC)
Davison or Baker first?
[edit]We've got an edit war going on about the cast listing. As I understand it, in episodes 1–3 Davison is (of course) listed alone and first, and in episode 4 Baker is listed first, followed by Davison. When referring to the story as a whole, there's a reasonable argument to be made either way: "Baker first" is a more accurate representation of the credit listing in the only episode in which they're both credited, but "Davison first" is a more accurate representation of their respective roles in the story as a whole. Let's discuss and see what the consensus is, instead of reverting indefinitely. —Josiah Rowe (talk • contribs) 18:06, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
- Since Davison is credit first for the majority of the episodes (and since he also appears in the majority of the story), it should be him listed first. DonQuixote 22:04, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
Image
[edit]The picture used for this article is of appalling quality and does not even show the Doctor (despite what the caption says). We would be better off with no picture at all than with this (if we can't find a better one). I propose removing it. Richard75 (talk) 17:03, 14 December 2012 (UTC)
- Images on articles about TV serials or episodes are often of low quality, in order to satisfy the rules of WP:NONFREE. --Redrose64 (talk) 18:26, 14 December 2012 (UTC)
- That is not a reason to have an image for the sake of it. The point of the image is to add to the article, but this image detracts from it. Better to have none at all. Wikipedia:Image use policy says "Images should depict their content well (the object of the image should be clear and central)." Richard75 (talk) 19:22, 14 December 2012 (UTC)
- As the uploader of the image, I don't mind if it's removed. This was added in the early days of Wikipedia where image rules weren't so well defined as they are now. DonQuixote (talk) 14:32, 15 December 2012 (UTC)
