Is that a Chevy Avalanche on the cover as well? Havl 16:32, 28 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

the title of this album

[edit]

is just "The Avalanche", as listed on the official label site: [1]. If we follow what's written on the record cover we'd have to change "Michigan" back to "Greetings from Michigan" and so on. --Gika 13:10, 8 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If anyone has any information of the historical context of "the avalanche" like which avalanche, and how did it have anything to do with illinois, (of course it could be just a metaphor) etc, posting some of that linking information would be appreciated. I can't find anything on the internet in cursory searches, even that stevens himself has said.

--At a concert last night, Sufjan said the title track is about "something very grounded; the Chevy Avalanche." Was he being serious? Sarcastic? I'm not sure, but I took it at face value.68.188.243.108 23:56, 31 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I am under a WP:0RR and have requested another editor revert himself, but he has yet to do so. Please undo: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=The_Avalanche_(Sufjan_Stevens_album)&diff=0&oldid=1197979126 as it was sourced. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 04:48, 15 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
