While it's true The Art of War is fairly obscure today, historically it was a very important and influential work. Makers of Modern Strategy listed Machiavelli as the reinventor of military strategy and the book was widely translated across Europe within decades of publication. We should consider rewording the first sentence to reflect the historical importance of the book, rather than it's present obscurity. 65.182.233.83 (talk) 00:21, 7 August 2009 (UTC)
