The Album (Blackpink album) → Blackpink: The Album – this is a clearer name, without DAB, and if they named their album "Blackpink: The Album", why aren’t we using that name? The title currently isn’t specific, and it has an unnecessary disambiguation that could very easily be avoided by moving the page. - @Tbhotch: please clarify what template to add. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Doggy54321 (talk • contribs) 12:54, 23 August 2020 (UTC)
- Question; what sources actually state that is the title of the album? I haven't seen it as Blackpink: The Album anywhere? The change was made to this article by an IP editor with no summary to explain why. If that is indeed the title of the album then yes, it should be moved. If it's not though then the current title is fine. Alex (talk) 07:00, 23 August 2020 (UTC)
- @Alexanderlee: if you look at this article published by Billboard, you can see that it’s unclear whether the album name is "The Album" or "Blackpink: The Album". I think we should wait until there is more promotion done and we get to see them refer to it more times, and we can come to a consensus based on that. Thanks! - Oppose YG's Tweet has "The Album" in quote marks. Heartfox (talk) 03:15, 27 August 2020 (UTC)
- All Access also has the album titled "The Album". Heartfox (talk) 03:19, 27 August 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose. Billboard has the album titled The Album. --83.250.95.80 (talk) 17:19, 2 September 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose, it's not the name of the album. --DarkGlow (talk) 13:01, 5 September 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose, ok at this point I know that the name is The Album. I made this because I thought the name was Blackpink: The Album because I saw the album art and became confused. That’s why I’m opposing myself. Doggy54321 (talk) 19:57, 5 September 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose, That's not the original title. This would create further confusion and not only that, it will lose it's identity. Joey Joshya (talk) 17:32, 6 September 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose – it seems that it's a stylistic title; when the album was announced and I created the redirect, I noticed multiple sources described it as "Blackpink: The Album". Obviously it's difficult to search for it now as there's dozens of articles about the album, so I can't provide links to any of them, which is annoying given it would be relevant to this discussion. (Sidenote: if anyone is able to assist me with excluding recent sources whilst searching for this term, that would be much appreciated). – Sean Stephens (talk) 23:47, 7 September 2020 (UTC)

- First off, the sources provided above are not reliable. The second source is literally a forum. But these are rumours. Unless you can find WP:RS stating the tracklist, it won't be added. Just a reminder that this is an encyclopedia, not a WP:CRYSTALBALL. Side note: BP confirmed there will be more than 10 tracks, so to add an incomplete tracklist will not be tolerated either. Thanks so much! Doggy54321 (talk) 17:37, 26 September 2020 (UTC)
- @Danger Days Fabulous Killjoy Sorry: sorry, I meant to ping you in my previous message! Doggy54321 (talk) 17:39, 26 September 2020 (UTC)
Album and track length
[edit]Hi everyone, I have the album and I just wanted to upload the length of the album and the tracks, how do I source the CD in itself so as not to get my edits reverted? I just wanted to provide information in advance. Also, should they all be minus the 2s fade? For instance "How You Like That" is already noted to last 3:01 but the track itself on the CD is 3:03. Thank you for your help, it's been a while since I have edited something here. Thank you. SSBMboss (talk) 15:29, 1 October 2020 (UTC+2)
- Hello! Someone has already added the lengths and cited reliably, but thank you for your eagerness and willing to learn! I don’t exactly know how to source CDs, as I usually do it from Spotify/Apple Music. Thank you so much! Doggy54321 (talk) 10:49, 2 October 2020 (UTC)

"The Album" isn't hte first album by a K-pop girl group to sold more than 1M, it was "Girls Generation" by Girls Generation (a Japanese Release, unfortunaly Oricon modify it's archive and we lost that source), followed by "Kill this Love" by Blackpink QQ Music – Kill This Love

Teddy Park
[edit]Hello,
It has come to my attention that Teddy Park is not credited as "Teddy Park". In all The Album-related articles, he’s credited as Teddy. I would like to know why.
First off, there is nothing on his Wikipedia page that says he goes by his first name only. Second, yes, in the credits I know he is credited as Teddy, but I feel like we should change this to include his last name. An example of an article I would like related articles to look like is This Is What You Came For. You can see that in the credits, Taylor Swift is credited as a songwriter, when she was credited as Nils Sjoberg at the time of the song's release. Therefore, I would like related articles to say "Teddy Park" for the same reason. Thoughts? Thanks! Doggy54321 (talk) 19:53, 4 October 2020 (UTC)

Sorry about the mix-up
[edit]Doggy54321 Hey sorry about that. I realized right after that I read the wrong sentence and went to revert my undo but I saw you did it already. -- Carlobunnie (talk) 21:38, 27 October 2020 (UTC)

Incorrect rank on Billboard 50 Best Albums of 2020 list
[edit]This edit request has been answered. Set the |answered= or |ans= parameter to no to reactivate your request. |
According to the list on Billboard's website (provided as reference on the page as well), the album's rank is 25, not 11.
- All set, thanks. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 14:49, 2 April 2021 (UTC)
