Producer?
[edit]The section 'Production' currently reads "Werner Herzog and Errol Morris, after seeing an early preview of The Act of Killing, signed on as executive producers" while the inforbox - like IMDB etc - lists Signe Byrge Sørensen as producer. Is there a reason for this or should something be corrected?Ramblersen (talk) 05:34, 26 March 2013 (UTC)
- Well if you look at the list, here , it´s at least not wrong. --Dadawah (talk) 14:01, 25 April 2013 (UTC)
A synopsis in "The Act of Killing" page
[edit]Hello! Daisysun777 here. it is nice to know you here! A definition of synopsis is "a short description of the main events or ideas in a book, film etc". Therefore here we have to put what the film shows. If you have any different views about the film, or if you have your own interpretations of the film, then you have to put your ideas in "Critique" section with references you find. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Daisysun777 (talk • contribs) 09:02, 28 May 2013 (UTC)
- As already observed by someone else[1] and ignored by you, you may be violating copyright. Even if there is no copyright issue (which you would have to prove) you cannot just replace a section with a text dump, you have to integrate additions you want to make with the existing text.
- With regard to the mix of history, filmmaking strategy and film content in one section (also in your text dump), it may be a little complicated to separate, we can look into that. - Patrick (talk) 20:38, 28 May 2013 (UTC)
- At least you have added some links, that is at least a little better than just a text dump. I restored a few other links. Rewrite the text in your own words and the copyright issue is solved. - Patrick (talk) 21:49, 28 May 2013 (UTC)
- I noticed that you are a one-issue editor. If you are connected to the filmmakers you need to read Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. - Patrick (talk) 05:45, 29 May 2013 (UTC)
Director's Cut
[edit]What differences are there between the original cut and the Director's Cut? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.103.182.155 (talk) 10:57, 1 October 2013 (UTC)
banality of evil
[edit]there is a link to an article, where TAoK is "analyzed in realition to arendts banality of evil". i read the article and in my opinion, there is no "analysis", because is too short. it just mentions arendts theory... Fraxs (talk) 12:49, 4 December 2013 (UTC)
Awards
[edit]The awards section(s) are getting a little unwieldy, taking up more of the article than the rest combined. It's an amazing movie but can we (a) trim the list to the most significant and (b) present them in a more streamlined way? Why are some below the table? --— Rhododendrites talk | 15:23, 19 December 2013 (UTC)
- I've been in the process of transferring the awards from the bullet list to the table. As far as the enormity of the awards section, we could possibly make a separate page for it. Here is an example of such a page: List of accolades received by 12 Years a Slave (film). --TFunk (talk) 18:05, 20 December 2013 (UTC)
- Did it: List of accolades received by The Act of Killing. I cut the section out and left a Main template/link. Should we retain a few of the more significant ones, though? Or work them into the rest of the article text? --— Rhododendrites talk | 16:12, 30 December 2013 (UTC)

The LEDE!
[edit]Why does the lede describe a bunch of specific details about who directs the movie and it's delivery to the US Congress, without describing WHAT THE MOVIE IS ABOUT!? Who writes this $hit that claims to be encyclopedic!?!? MAKE THE LEDE THE LEDE! 207.216.83.226 (talk) 22:40, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
- I agree that the lead is not up to scratch, in part for the reasons you nominate. However, please don't be rude to wikipedia editors. We don't have time to fix everything and sometimes we are not perfect. A better approach would be for you to lodge your concerns here (as you have) and then go ahead and fix them yourself for which we would be grateful. We are all volunteers. cheers --Merbabu (talk) 20:30, 20 February 2014 (UTC)

Penumpasan Pengkhianatan G30S/PKI
[edit]Tangentially, shouldn't there be a connection to the film 'Penumpasan Pengkhianatan G30S/PKI', required viewing for a generation of Indonesian students on a similar theme? Apparently that has no entry on English Wikipedia, but see the one on Indonesian WP. Onanoff (talk) 04:36, 29 September 2021 (UTC)
