@Archyvette: Last summer, when you added the additional information about the fonds at LAC, you mentioned that the start date is 1818. Is that really correct? I would have thought it was 1918, the year Casgrain first went to Ottawa with her husband? Mr Serjeant Buzfuz (talk) 06:57, 9 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Mr Serjeant Buzfuz:Hi - Yes, the start date of the fonds is 1818. The earliest file in the fonds is in the series PAPIERS PERSONNELS ET DE FAMILLE (Personal and family papers) in a file called Famille Casgrain - souvenirs. The date range of the file is 1818-1937. The file is located in volume 10, file 3. This specific series contains a number of files that were created before Thérèse Casgrain's time, but since she held those records as part of her own fonds, they have been organized as a series within the fonds. 1818-1981 are the outside dates of the material, although the fonds is predominantly 1900s-1981.Archyvette (talk) 12:27, 9 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Very interesting, thanks! I knew that the Casgrain family has deep roots; this is an indication of just how deep! Appreciate the additions you've been making to a number of articles about the archival sources. Mr Serjeant Buzfuz (talk) 13:44, 9 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
