Controversies Page
[edit]The "controversies" subheading makes sense to include for an enforcement agency. However, a cursory reading of the content (let alone a deep dive into sources) shows that it's written from a point of extreme bias. Use of terms like "victim" to describe people who has been lawfully assessed penalties is inappropriate in this context. The entire subheading reads like it was written by aggrieved targets of enforcement action. I am somewhat familiar with the agency and am working on improving this section to be written from a more objective perspective, but would appreciate assistance! - I agree this page has numerous problems, including those noted by koshersquid.
- also, it notes that the Texas Ethics Commission was formed in 1991 but "The "Sharpstown scandal" of 1971 stands out as a significant incident in its history." How TEC can be blamed for the Sharpstown scandal happening on its watch when it was created twenty years later is beyond me. Curb energia (talk) 15:07, 26 February 2024 (UTC)
