I recall reading somewhere that the name comes from a battle during the Umayyad expansion into Mesopotamia. The tell was the site of the battle, and I thought Ubiad was the name of the Arabian commander who won the battle. I can't remember where I read this or if I dreamed it, so I won't write it here. I was hoping this article would refresh my memory on the naming of the hill Himkdm (talk) 07:15, 14 February 2021 (UTC).[reply]
