[edit]It has been suggested that this page be merged with tents and also suggested that it be merged with tarpaulins. Because there is a trend in backpacking, especially ultralight backpacking, to move toward tarp tents and away from tarpaulins and tents this may well warrant a separate definition. Both tents and tarpaulins are quite old and broad definitions. In some senses a tarp tent is very different than either a tarp or a tent even though it evolved from both of them. - This is pretty bang-on, and the lack of sources really point to it not really being its own category. The main distinguishing feature is a single wall, but they could just be called single-walled tents. Sinimial (talk) 00:08, 3 August 2024 (UTC)
