Recent name change
[edit]I changed the name of this article from "Tapemaster" to "Tape edge machine". TapeMaster seems to just refer to a particular tape edge machine produced by Global Systems Group.
To back up this change, I found several references to tape edge machine operators in the population census for the US, but couldn't find a way to work the refs into the text:
- 1970 (classified under 663: Sewers and stitchers, part of the mattress industry)[1]
- 1980 (code 744, part of the mattress industry)[2]
- 1990 (code 744, part of the mattress industry)[3]
If someone else comes across reputable sources, please add them! I was only able to find descriptive online references to tape edge machines from one magazine publication, BedTimes, although I did see many personal youtube videos mentioning it.
