[edit]Hi,
Wondering why the well-known legends of Tanaji coming away from the wedding of his beloved son in order to lead the attack on Kondana, as also his use of "Ghorpad" lizards to scale its cliffs is not mentioned here? ImpuMozhi 23:26, 16 December 2005 (UTC)
Death is 1670 or 1672?
[edit]Both dates are given by authoritative source. You'd think there'd be some sort of unanimity about Sinhagad and Tahaji. I'm altering to 1670 to keep consistent with timelines in Shivaji and Sinhagad.

About the Ghorpads (also called Bengal monitors or hill iguanas) Tanaji Malusare used to conqure fort Sinhgad salvation war.
[edit]As a boy , in my childhood i have heard many stories about king Shivaji and his heroic deeds. I Vishal Prakash Dudhane living in Pune city are from the town Khamgaon Maval in foothills of fort Sinhagadh or Old name fort Kondhana. My home village is part of fort Sinhagadh as known from government land records . Infact there are 8 ( eight ) villages which are known as " Aathagaon Ghera " or Eight villages round .I have sweet memories of my childhood when during school vacations I used to stay in my uncle's home for more than two months. I use to wonder with my brother, do the farm work, go with the buffaloes for grazing at local stream. During the yearly 'Urus' or festival of local deity Amrinath which is next day of Hindu holy years first day festival Gudhipadva I used to visit the village. The old peoples of our village says that when Tanaji Malusare went for the salvation war he took local people from our village to show the proper way to climb on fort Sinhagadh . Infact our village was granted as " Inam " or Jhagir or gift from King Shivaji to his main spy Hiroji Farjad alias .... Bhosale. Today in this Ghera Sinhagadh round hills there is a bungalow housing society named Anandvan. There are many bungalow farm houses in this society. We have a bungalow plot at there. I have visited many times and done some farm work there. I have most important thing to tell that the Lionheart Tanaji Malusare fact that he climbed on fort Sinhagadh with the help of Ghorpads (also called Bengal monitors or hill iguanas) . All Marathi historians use to say that this story ( Fact ) is untrue. But when i asked to my relatives that if the Ghorpads (also called Bengal monitors or hill iguanas) is present in our area , they say yess , the Ghorpads (also called Bengal monitors or hill iguanas) is present but to see a sight of it is very rare and auspicious. During my time at my village area of Khamgaon Maval i then have seen this Ghorpads (also called Bengal monitors or hill iguanas) two times. The last occasion occurred when before my marriage in Februwary 2002 we had arranged a ritual called Jawal Jatra. The ritual Jawal Jatra was arranged in a farm nearby our village and when i visited the nearby well for some work i saw the Ghorpads (also called Bengal monitors or hill iguanas). It was around 2 O Clock time. So the statement from modern historians that the story or fact that the Lionheart Tanaji Malusare that he climb on fort Sinhagadh with the help of Ghorpads (also called Bengal monitors or hill iguanas) is untrue is false according to me --- Vishal Prakash Dudhane.

- Akash Joshi, Maratha was often used a a term to refer to all marathi speaking population. Please check this news about the lawsuit. https://www.republicworld.com/entertainment-news/bollywood-news/delhi-hc-directs-tanhaji-makers-to-add-disclaimer-over-use-of-maratha.html "Just a day before release, the Delhi High Court has directed makers to add a disclaimer over the use of the word, 'Maratha' in the film. Asserting that it be used as a 'general term' to refer to all soldiers of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, and not as a mention to a certain community. The age at the time of death is wrong. If he was born on 1626 and died on 1670, he should be 44 at the time of death and not 70 as mentioned in the article Saumyaraj Zala (talk) 13:49, 8 February 2020 (UTC)
- Age removed, wasn't mentioned in the cited source. – Thjarkur (talk) 21:36, 8 February 2020 (UTC)

Primary / Contempory source for Koli identification.
[edit]What primary / contemporary documents have been cited by the secondary authors for making the claim that Tanaji Malusare was Koli? Pratish_K (talk) 16:10, 14 March 2022 (UTC)
- I was wondering the same. Tanaji was not koli 27.32.115.97 (talk) 01:36, 24 November 2023 (UTC)
Genuine spelling of Tanaji's name
[edit]Tanaji Malusare's name's genuine spelling is " Tanaji" not Tanhaji. Aajay Devgan changed this spelling beaches he believes in numerology. By this way the misinformation spred, Tanaji's name never was Tanhaji (Source- [1], so refrain from distorting it.Education is strength (talk) 12:48, 28 May 2022 (UTC)
- Besides that, Tanaji was not koli 27.32.115.97 (talk) 01:33, 24 November 2023 (UTC)
