I see we've got the Euromix article as a source for Golergant's birthplace. Other sources (ESCBubble and ESCplus) have her birthplace as Luxembourg. Not sure which of these are considered reputable enough for inclusion on Wikipedia, and to me it subjectively feels more likely that she is Israel-born as the Euromix article gives more description of the pathway to Luxembourg, but thought it merited being raised on the talk page just in case. Oh, hadn’t noticed that. I also think EuroMix might be more reliable since they interviewed her directly in that article. Though the claim needs to be checked elsewhere at this point. ~ IvanScrooge98 (talk) 00:08, 28 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Also, the EuroMix source adds that her family moved for some time before settling in Luxembourg, which is completely omitted in the other two articles. ~ IvanScrooge98 (talk) 00:12, 28 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I've noticed that the information stating that Golergant is a 'proud Israeli' has been removed multiple times citing irrelevancy, but has been added back by the original author, so I thought it would be better to debate whether this should be included here on the talk page. I would agree that it is irrelevant as her opinion on her nationality doesn’t seem like Wikipedia-worthy information especially with her representing Luxembourg, and also with the nature of recent vandalism on the page, though it is now protected, this hardly relevant piece of information will not help matters. However, rather than beginning an edit war it might be more productive to come to a conclusion on whether to include it or not here. Sizewell (talk) 18:12, 28 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I also restored it when it was removed earlier, as the reason cited for removal was "invites hate", which isn't a valid reason for removal per WP:NOTCENSORED. Re how relevant or due it is to include, I get your arguments but I lean towards inclusion because ultimately it's relevant information to her secondary nationality, sourced to a decent fansite with no reliability issues that I'm aware of. ser!(chat to me - see my edits)18:33, 28 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
As the one who added the info: I believe this is relatively relevant as far as her personal identity is concerned, meaning that she has kept ties with her place of origin. ~ IvanScrooge98 (talk) 11:19, 29 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I removed this line yesterday because I thought it was not a relavant piece of information for an encyclopedic article, especially the information about how often she visits Israel. I also think that the statement is quite one-sided, as she mentions in numerous interviews given to the Luxembourgish press that she calls Luxembourg her home due to her family and friends living there (including in a video portrait by RTL at 3:45: https://www.rtl.lu/tele/luxembourg-song-contest/v/3358467.html). Either all of her views regarding different countries she lived in should be included, or none of them, which I think would be preferable because it isn't really that relevant. Which could be interesting though is to include the languages she speaks, which are English, Hebrew, Spanish and French (at 5:00 in the video portait). MXolt (talk) 12:01, 29 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
