Review

[edit]

Please review this article and and help to publish. An earlier draft tecom group is protected and redirected. An administrator has recommended the creation of this draft and review by an administrator.Ajsanantonio (talk) 09:23, 30 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Ajsanantonio: why does this need a review by an administrator? Can you point to where this was stated? Ordinarily it should just join the queue with all other drafts. Thanks  — Amakuru (talk) 17:55, 1 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
No admin intervention needed. This can be reviewed by anyone as normal part of AFC. Nthep (talk) 21:17, 1 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Amakuru: It was stated on the talk page of TECOM Group, which has been redirected by an administrator to Dubai Holding. The TECOM Group page is protected and only an administrator can make changes. It will be helpful if you can assist.Ajsanantonio (talk) 10:34, 3 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
If the draft is accepted then moving it to TECOM Group is the only time an administrator will be needed and that is regularly handled as part of the AFC process. Nthep (talk) 11:02, 3 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

This page is not unambiguously promotional, because... (it provides key information on an organisation that is integrated with the key future focused strategies of Dubai including Smart City, 3d printing, industrial strategy etc. It falls within the category of companies based in Dubai. The write-up was vetted as a draft in AfC and moved into the article space after review by Wikipedia administrators.) --Ajsanantonio (talk) 10:57, 1 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion about Poorly sourced advertisements for the company's products

[edit]

Dear Thenightaway, I recently made some edits to the article, but my changes were reverted with the reason given as "poorly sourced advertisements for the company's products". I would like to start a discussion to better understand your concerns and work towards improving the article. Can you please provide specific examples of the content that you consider to be "poorly sourced advertisements"? I want to make sure that any changes I make to the article are in line with Wikipedia Guidelines.

I want to assure you that my intention was not to advertise the company's products. I believe that the content I added was relevant and helpful for the article, but I acknowledge that there may have been some promotional or biased language. I am willing to make changes to address this issue.

If the sources I used were deemed unreliable or inadequate, I would be happy to find better sources to support the claims I made. Please let me know if you have any suggestions for sources that would be acceptable.

At the same time, I would also like to hear from other editors on this matter. Can you please review the article and provide your perspective on whether there is any content that could be considered promotional or biased towards the company's products? I want to make sure that any changes I make to the article are in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.

I appreciate your feedback and suggestions for improvement. Thank you.Writersagera (talk)12:43, 15 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

WP:OTHER. The sources are not RS. Can you explain how you discovered this discussion? You've never edited this page before but then pop up out of nowhere to argue for brazen promotional content in the article. Thenightaway (talk) 13:06, 22 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The content in question was all brazen promotional material. The kind you would find on the company's website, not an encyclopedia. This page has a history of paid editors inserting exactly the kind of content you tried to insert. This was also the largest edit you've done on Wikipedia and it was completely out of sync with all other edits you've made in terms of substantive issue area – if you have a conflict of interest, which includes payment in exchange for edits, you need to disclose that per WP:COI. Hello Thenightaway,
Thank you for addressing my recent edit to this article and letting me know the facts.
I would like to inform you that I am not a paid editor and nobody is paying me to do any changes to the Wikipedia platform. Also, I am not affiliated with any of the brands. I am a learner and I will always look forward to improving my skills and knowledge of Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
I agree that this was my first largest edit on Wikipedia and was very random. Being my first largest edits I might have made mistakes, I would appreciate your guidance on how to rectify those. If there are any specific areas or policies that I need to focus on, please let me know.
I did use citations to support the information I added to the article. If any of these citations are unreliable or inadequate, I would appreciate your guidance in finding better sources to support the claims I made.
Also, I have added information about the company IPO in the lead section and parameters in the Infobox which is sourced according to my understanding and has been reverted. Additionally, I am open to hearing from other users and contributors on this matter. I believe that receiving input from other editors will help me learn and improve my contributions to Wikipedia.
Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.Writersagera (talk) 09:30, 28 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
