Clarification on Architect

[edit]

I recently read about Vikram Lall’s passing and discovered a discrepancy in his involvement with the Swaminarayan Akshardham, New Delhi project. It seems that some initial false reporting that he was the architect has been amplified by other news articles, and subsequently,Vikram Lall and the Akshardham management jointly appear to have issued a clarification about that false reporting. According to this letter written by Lall, he stated that he had not been involved in the architecture for the Swaminarayan Akshardham mandir or surrounding traditional structures and he had never stated that he had, but that some media sources had misrepresented him. So I have removed his name from the architect infobox and text which says so. Additionally, the sources cited do not state that the monument was built according to the Maharishi Vastu Architecture, this appears to be WP:OR, so I have removed that as well. Thank you Tale.Spin, I was the one insisting on giving credit to Vikram Lall, but I now stand corrected. From what I could get from the Vikram Lall letter and the BAPS clarification, the Sompuras (these Sompuras?) were among the main contributions for the design of the temple. I think they should be mentioned at least once on the page. What do you think? Herrikez (talk) 12:01, 10 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the update Herrikez. I’ve added a detail regarding the actual architect from the Sompura family that aided the BAPS Swamis in designing the Delhi Akshardham. Tale.Spin (talk) 05:28, 13 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
