Incoming wikilinks
[edit]I have searched for "Susan Wood" and "Wood, Susan" in Wikipedia and added wikilinks to List of Vogue Italia cover models, Unfinished Music No. 2: Life with the Lions and List of American women photographers. Other mentions of the name seem to relate to other people. TSventon (talk) 12:01, 24 March 2024 (UTC)
Women's Forum
[edit]A number of sources like this one [1] say that she was a founding member of the Women’s Forum. I can't work out which one though, any thoughts TSventon? Theroadislong (talk) 14:57, 24 March 2024 (UTC)
- Theroadislong, an internet search suggests it could be the International Women's Forum, founded in 1974 as the Women's Forum of New York, but hopefully someone at WT:WIR will know where to look for more information. TSventon (talk) 15:20, 24 March 2024 (UTC)
- Trouble is their website doesn't mention her! Theroadislong (talk) 15:43, 24 March 2024 (UTC)
Promotional?
[edit]The statement "Wood's work is represented in the Library of Congress and by Getty Images" has been removed as being promotional, not clear why, this is just a statement of fact, she has a large number of photos in both of them. [2] [3] [4] Theroadislong (talk) 19:51, 24 March 2024 (UTC)
- @Lopifalko: can you explain your edit? Wood's website says "Susan's work is represented in the Library of Congress and by Getty Images" so Wikipedia should not be copying the exact wording. TSventon (talk) 20:10, 24 March 2024 (UTC)
- Hello people. I removed Getty Images because it "is an American visual media company and supplier of stock images, editorial photography, video, and music for business and consumers, with a library of over 477 million assets" and as such inclusion is not noteworthy. I removed the Library of Congress inclusion because so often such mentions (in "Collections" sections) are merely libraries holding a book, but on reflection that is not the case in this instance, however "[http://loc.gov/pictures/collection/lmc/ The Look Magazine Photograph Collection is a vast photographic archive created to illustrate Look magazine and related publications produced by companies founded by Gardner Cowles. The cataloged portion of the collection totals some four million published and unpublished images made by photographers working for Look". In that context I am thinking that it is not as exclusive as a Collection (museum), which is what I equate "Wood's work is represented in the Library of Congress" to. Please do correct me if you think I'm wrong. -Lopifalko (talk) 07:33, 25 March 2024 (UTC)
Publisher names
[edit]@Theroadislong: the reason I truncate publisher names is because I have been shown this way by Hoary, and as per the example of WP:BIBLIOGRAPHY. E.g. Four Square rather than Four Square Books. -Lopifalko (talk) 10:36, 25 March 2024 (UTC)
- I prefer the full correct name for precision. Theroadislong (talk) 10:40, 25 March 2024 (UTC)
