Poster
[edit]I seriously doubt that the poster is real... so if someone would edit it out Odeesi
- It looks real enough to me. New logo, nice. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Juniorlizard (talk • contribs) 19:46, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
- If it was real they would have included the date. I think they would have taken a new picture of Randy Orton instead of editing an old one. Don.-.J (talk) 10:17, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
Indemand is reliable source it will be changed when wweaffliates releases it SuperSilver901 (talk) 15:27, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
John Cena
[edit]I've gone ahead and added an invisible note to prevent the addition of the rumour about John Cena. If anyone disagrees please say so. Thanks, Genius101 Guestbook 21:54, 15 October 2008 (UTC)
You know, its a bit stupid how people can see the invisible note about adding rumours, yet keep adding them.. I think wrestling event pages should be protected.Ruthless-paki (talk) 21:54, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
at cyber sunday 2008 it was advertised of john cena's return —Preceding unsigned comment added by Camakazy100 (talk • contribs) 01:22, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
Poster
[edit]Put both the Orton and Cena poster up. They're both official posters. --Harvey "Two-Face" Dent (Muhaha!!) 19:15, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
- No, because the Cena one is the final version released and is the one WWE will promote.--SRX 03:33, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
Matches
[edit]To the on who is editing the matches right now, thank you —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.241.151.161 (talk) 08:41, 5 November 2008 (UTC)
SmackDown matches are not official
[edit]They were not announced on TV, they just said "apparently" Kozlov would face Triple H for the WWE title, they didn't guarantee it. The WWE SD results say Hardy attacked the Moscow Mauler with a chair, simultaneously handing Kozlov a win by disqualification and an apparent chance at WWE Champion Triple H at Survivor Series. Keyword Apparent. To coincide with this, there is no official match announcement on the main Survivor Series website. Also, there is no reliable source announcing Big Show vs The Undertaker for Survivor Series, WrestleView in this case is not reliable because it is just speculation.--SRX 17:28, 8 November 2008 (UTC)
- Did you not watch SmackDown? They specifically said that The Big Show will take on The Undertaker in a casket match, they even did a damn on-screen graphic for it. I think they did the same thing for Triple H/Kozlov (I was typing a report at the time and was half paying attention). I don't want to risk getting in trouble reverting again, but you are clearly wrong in this case since both are CONFIRMED. TJ Spyke 17:38, 8 November 2008 (UTC)
- If they would have said that and a graphic was shown, why isn't it verifiable through their website which has been updated with SD results already? WWE has shown graphics for matches many of times and then they will pull them without them ever being on WWE.com.--SRX 17:42, 8 November 2008 (UTC)
- WWE has done this before, announce a match on TV but take some time to put it on the site (sometimes even days after it was announced). Being announced on TV is just as reliable as being announced online. TJ Spyke 17:43, 8 November 2008 (UTC)
- I just saw the replay of SmackDown, and they said nothing about Kozlov earning a WWE title match or Big Show in a Casket match with The Undertaker.--SRX 18:38, 8 November 2008 (UTC)

They actually did confirm Big Show vs. Undertaker in a casket match last night. There was a graphic showing the two for the event. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.61.45.249 (talk) 20:27, 8 November 2008 (UTC)
[1] Here, they've mentioned both matches in this weeks Power 25.--DonJuan.EXE (talk) 16:58, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
Jeff Hardy will get his chance to get in to the match vs. Triple H on Smackdown 21st. In the taping results for the 21st Jeff wins So at Survivor Series it will be Triple H vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Kozlov for the WWE Championship
- Only if Jeff Hardy wins his match next week. This is not a forum though. TJ Spyke 16:08, 15 November 2008 (UTC)

Gail Kim vs. Beth Phoenix

- Rumors I bet, I know this isn't the place for that, but that would be a hell of a match. But until a RS announces it, it is just speculation.--SRX 15:32, 11 November 2008 (UTC)
- Wow, that wasn't even realistic. 3pointswish (talk) 03:20, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
Also, can someone add Triple H vs Jeff Hardy vs Vladimir Kozlov because it was announced at the 21/11/08 SMACKDOWN! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.10.174.121 (talk) 16:41, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
- Well, has 11/21 happened yet? Has it aired on TV anywhere? Nope.--SRX 17:11, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
Big Show
[edit]I think we should put big show as the winner against the undertaker because he dosen't fit in the casketKalajan (talk) 12:29, 18 November 2008 (UTC)

WWE Championship Match
[edit]Is going be a triple-threat match also with Jeff Hardy too! Can't edit, as page is banned? 41.245.129.121 (talk) 12:52, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
- The page is protected from unregistered and newly registered (less than 3 days old) accounts. There is no reliable source for your claim (and rumor sites don't count). Wait until it airs. TJ Spyke 17:30, 20 November 2008 (UTC)
Well, lookee here! Someone added it into the article with a reliable source! Guess it wasn't just his claim from a "rumor site" after all! Funny how these "rumor sites" and "wild claims" are so often accurate but can't be added to articles because they've been locked down. 41.245.166.168 (talk) 12:39, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
- Y'know this always surprises me for some reason, but I don't know why. Wikipedia is not a news site or a rumour page. WP policies require reliable sources for new information, and has policies like WP:CRYSTAL that don't allow editors to assume what's going to happen before it does. I don't know why people come to Wikipedia for wrestling news and then complain when the encyclopedia article isn't up to date because there aren't valid sources or any reliable document or broadcasts to back up claims. Hazardous Matt 13:46, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
Er, the original poster obviously saw it listed with reliable source, but was unable to edit the page due to the "protected" status. Then somebody who WAS able to edit added the information, along with the reliable source. What is perverse is people who dismiss reliable sources as "rumor mills" and "wild claims". If it's sourced with a decent source then how can it be a "wild claim"? The problem was that the original person who obviously has not registered, could not edit the page and add the source, because of the "lockdown" status. Then when he points this out, he is insulted about "rumor mills"! What should come as no surprise is that some people have obviously got control issues. What's damaging to wikipedia is that people can't edit/add information because of locks, and are then insulted about "wild claims" when they ask what is going on.... 41.245.166.168 (talk) 11:51, 22 November 2008 (UTC)
- I didn't say he was incorrect. The policy of Wikipedia in general is to add information from a reliable source. Check with WP:PW if you want the list of wrestling sites considered reliable sources. Stuff from the SmackDown tapings fall under these. If you don't have a reliable source, the info will be reverted. The reason the article is semi-protected is because the same thing happens with EVERY WWE PPV article, idiot IP's (I know that not all IPs are like this though) start to vandalize the article and continue until after the PPV ends. The result is that every PPV article ends up being semi-protected. TJ Spyke 16:19, 22 November 2008 (UTC)
I just find it funny that website that is not reliable anyways has the nerves to say what reliable source and whats not considering Wikiepaida itself is not a reliable sourceSupermike101
I think it should be noted that someone's idea of some kind of sick joke is going on in the section which talks about Jeff Hardy. Right after where it says he was found unconscious in a Boston hotel room, there is a sentence which reads "He will be replaced by a returning Chris Benoit.", which cannot possibly be true as Benoit committed suicide last year. Please if a moderator reads this, remove the Benoit statement, as it is obviously misleading. User talk:Ag2k8 —Preceding undated comment was added at 19:30, 23 November 2008 (UTC).
It was really sick. I've removed it. Michaelclarkc (talk) 19:35, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
I know this is not a forum, but needless to say I hope Hardy will be able to compete. I had a feeling this was going to be a special night for him where he'd win the title...but now it's only if he's medically cleared, or hopefully even still alive for that matter. talk) 15:27, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
Don't worry it is just a storyline where it will be found that a returning Edge is the one who took Hardy out.Miroa12004 (talk) 23:54, 23 November 2008
You're right guys, it's not a forum... there are plenty of those out there if you want to speculate.TheNeutroniumAlchemist (talk) 02:24, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
Manger's
[edit]Don't forget to add the manager's for the matches:
Ranjin Singh managed The Great Khali
Santino Marella managed Beth Phoenix
Layla managed Willam Regal
Manu managed Cody Rhodes
and
Tony Atlas managed Mark Henry —Preceding unsigned comment added by Oreius (talk • contribs) 10:16, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
Santino is not Beth's manager, Layla isn't Regal's manager nor Manu is Cody Rhodes' Poloniculmov (talk) 23:16, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
Either way ALL THREE where at ringside so there, end of debate. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Oreius (talk • contribs) 05:43, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
Real names
[edit]Could someone please remove the real names as they are not necessary. They are provided on the superstars own page and do nothing but make this page look a complete mess. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.12.100.127 (talk) 14:32, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
- The method of style was updated during recent Feature-Article consideration. They're staying in for the forseeable future. Hazardous Matt 17:50, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
That really does need to be changed. I have noticed that over the recent months wrestling articles have been getting progressively worse, mostly the pay per view event pages due to repetition of information that is completely unnecessary, and removal of information that was interesting. Wikipedia used to be the best place to look for information on WWE events but it seems that is no longer the case. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.12.117.187 (talk) 12:27, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
- Then go here to bring it up. It's project-wide so you'll want to bring it up on the project talk page. Hazardous Matt 13:06, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
Jeff Hardy
[edit]Did the storyline utilise his drug problems? I thought the implication may well have been that he was attacked. I thought it was controversial as wwe.com posted it as real, making many fans fear that it was, and worrying about Jeff's health, partly because of said drug problems, and of course the fact that many wrestlers have died at a young age in recent years. I won't change it until Friday if no one else does, but the idea seemed to me to be that Edge has attacked him. Considering they never mention drugs on air, I doubt they'd do a storyline on Jeff ODing.
Oh and why is there no description of how the matches ended? Mankytoes (talk) 01:01, 26 November 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mankytoes (talk • contribs) 21:45, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
It's kayfabe, he wasn't sick. He was in the match, threw a couple of chair shots. And there's no link between the hospital story and drug use. Pleas edit that. Poloniculmov (talk) 23:13, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
Survivor Match
[edit]WWE.Com officially lists the Survivor match as "Team HBK Vs Team JBL", meaning it's officially team HBK, not Team Michaels.
Worst Major Show
[edit]I think that we should add a reception section, which mentions that Survivor Series 2008 won an award for Worst Major Show on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Awards.

Request regarding File:Triple H WWE Champion 2008.jpg
[edit]I apologize if this is not in your project's language:
David Seto, the photographer for File:Triple H WWE Champion 2008.jpg, has reached out by email (OTRS ticket 2014051110039359) asking us to either reduce the quality of the image or add in a watermark, so that people cannot put the image on items such as tee shirts and sell them on eBay.
I informed Mr. Seto that neither of these actions would be possible, but offered to post a message on the talk pages of the articles where the image is used, asking whether the editors that worked on those articles would be willing to replace the use of his photograph with another image. I neither have the power nor the desire to order anyone to make this change, and I will not personally do it myself, but if the people that edit this page see it fit to do so, I am sure that Mr. Seto would appreciate it.
Please note that this is a mass-posted message. I will not see or respond to anything posted here. If you have any questions or comments, please bring them to Commons:OTRS/Noticeboard.
Sincerely, Sven Manguard Wha? 17:39, 20 May 2014 (UTC)
