- I expect exactly as you would expect: replace 'clock' from 'clockwise'.
http://www.thefreedictionary.com/sunwise gives [ˈsʌnˌwaɪz] but I don't speak IPA. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.161.65.147 (talk) 17:06, 27 January 2012 (UTC)
- Actually, I was asking about "deiseil" which was the redirect-page title, at one point. JohnAspinall (talk) 16:27, 12 March 2012 (UTC)
east to west
[edit]"East to west," to my mind, suggests a linear motion, no more clockwise than counter clockwise. I'm guessing that, to a observer in the northern hemisphere, facing the sun at midday would have you facing south, and thus following the sun east-to-west would have you turning clockwise. Whatever the reason, I think it would clarify things if it were explained in the article. PurpleChez (talk) 13:35, 1 August 2019 (UTC)
- im a bit confused too. if you walk a circle you may start off going ready to west bit will soon end up walking west to east to return to your start point. ~ 84.71.45.82 (talk) 84.71.45.82 (talk) 00:14, 23 January 2022 (UTC)
