AC or DC?
[edit]We have a 'citation needed tag' in High-voltage direct current#Renewable electricity superhighways as to whether this power link runs AC or DC power. This article, and everything I can find by Googling, seems utterly silent on the matter. I have found that the longer acronyms are HVDC and FACTS ("high-voltage direct current (HVDC) and flexible AC transmission systems (FACTS)."[1]), if that helps with other people's searches. I really think we should be able to cut through the corporate marketing-speak and find out such a simple fact. --Nigelj (talk) 20:12, 9 December 2012 (UTC)
- I've removed the Sunrise Powerlink info from the HVDC article. There appears to be no support that it is a DC line. Lines that are HVDC are most always quick to point that out. Plus the distance of the line is too short (117 mi) to make it economical to be a DC line. DC lines are generally 500 miles or more, unless they connect different grid systems. --66.41.154.0 (talk) 19:36, 6 November 2013 (UTC)
