What is this sentence supposed to mean

[edit]

"The image of the holiday Little Miss Sunbeam first appeared on a billboard in the 1950s."

What holiday? Where did someone have a holiday? What does a holiday have to do with the creation of the artwork?

Notability

[edit]

A little surprised we lacked an article for this. Name is a household word. Significant media coverage in multiple markets going back decades. Old ads for the this are collectibles. Dlohcierekim 14:45, 17 May 2008 (UTC) There are even Google Scholar hits]. Dlohcierekim 14:51, 17 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just because a brand-name is well-known, doesn't mean that a wikipedia article about the brand is encyclopedic. An article should contain something of public interest. This article simply says that Sunbeam is a brand of bread. In reviewing your "media coverage" links, I see only articles that mention Sunbeam incidentally, but not articles "about" Sunbeam. Perhaps you can expand it to show notability. OccamzRazor (talk) 20:27, 17 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Origins of Sunbeam Bread

[edit]

I came across an obituary in the New York Times that claims the founder of Holiday Inn Kemmons Wilson posed in an ad for Sunbeam Bread when he was 5. That would have been in 1918, but I can't find any record of Sunbeam existing before the 1940s. Gobonobo T C 04:56, 23 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
