Sulpicius is also an ancient Roman nomen. Sulpicius is also the name of a saint, Sulpicius II. of Bourges (French: Saint Sulpice II. de Bourges). The church of Saint-Sulpice, built in 1648 is one of the landmarks of Paris; in the district of St Germain des Pres, it contains one of the largest classical organs in Europe, and is featured on many recordings. A church dedicated to Saint Sulpice also names a district of Montreal.

Pronunciation of "Severus"

[edit]

I am not aware that (ˈsɛvərəs) is a correct pronunciation. I have always know it to be (sɪˈvɪərəs), and various dictionaries such as Random House, Collins, and Merriam Webster all show that the latter pronunciation is correct. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.224.176.96 (talk) 21:14, 26 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
