Sucre, Venezuela → Sucre (state) – In Venezuela there is a municipality (2nd level division, after state) named Sucre. The current title is ambiguous. The format "X (state)" is widely used in English Wikipedia, e.g. New York (state), Washington (state), Rio de Janeiro (state). It is also used by the majority of items that need disambiguation in Category:States of Venezuela, namely 7, while only 4 use "X, Venezuela". From these four the first would be ambiguous if it would use Amazonas (state), since there is one such entity in another country. – 80.134.83.136 (talk) 17:45, 17 September 2015 (UTC)
- @80.134.83.136: This is a contested technical request (permalink). Anthony Appleyard (talk) 21:48, 17 September 2015 (UTC)
- Sucre (disambiguation) shows that there are Sucre's in several South American countries. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 21:49, 17 September 2015 (UTC)

- Comment: User:Anthony Appleyard - you say it is contested. By whom? 80.134.83.136 (talk) 22:22, 17 September 2015 (UTC)
- Support - current name is ambiguous, proposed name follows established format for states of Venezuela that have an ambiguous name. Don't understand what Anthony talks about. 80.134.83.136 (talk) 22:24, 17 September 2015 (UTC) Nominator's vote. George Ho (talk) 01:51, 18 September 2015 (UTC)
- There are so many places and areas called Sucre or similar in so many South American nations that there is much ambiguity here unless the articles about them are well disambiguated. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 22:26, 17 September 2015 (UTC)
- Anthony Appleyard Yes, so what? Why did you block the move to an unambiguous name? The current name is ambiguous. There are 12 Sucre listed for Venezuela. There is no single other state named "Sucre" listed. 80.134.83.136 (talk) 22:46, 17 September 2015 (UTC)
- OK, sorry, try move to Sucre (state of Venezuela) or Sucre (state)(Venezuela)? Anthony Appleyard (talk) 05:02, 18 September 2015 (UTC)
