I thought your article was very informative. You pretty much hit all the main impotant parts but I didn't read where it said it was a monocot or a dicot. You might want to add that if you know what it is.

Article review

[edit]

I think your article is very informative, especially with all of the external links. I really liked how you included a brief history of this exotic flower in addition to all the great scientific info. I find the goegraphic history of plants intringuing and am amazed at how so many can survive and flourish outside their natural habitat. Like the flower you wrote your article on, it was never native to the US but now it is the official flower of L.A! Thanks for the info!

Helpful with identification, but no cultivation information. How can one get a plant to flower in the U.K.? 217.44.190.127 (talk) 18:40, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

(i would like to know about medicinal properties of the plant, for example i was at work yesturday and wanted to take a cig break but didnt have any tobacco so to just satisfy the fixation i pulled a dried leaf from the bottom side of the plant and smoked it.I noticed a clear head feeling opposite to that of a cig. Ive heard rumors of banana leaf being "smokable" but when i tried it i didnt notice anything. I now pick this leaf shaft whenever i happen upon one and jokingly respond to my freinds (mostly apprehensive) Oh this is happy grass. obvious assumptions follow imediatly and are brushed aside but some have tried it and prefered it to tobacco. ...I dont expect this to remain on the site though an email response would be appreciated/ ecomunky@yahoo.com {james} —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.231.8.205 (talk) 16:43, 15 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Removed unsourced text

I’ve removed some unsourced text:

  • Naturalized in various countries?
  • National flower of Madeira?

I’ve tried to find sources for these statements, without success. If anybody can find reliable sources, I will gladly replace. Darorcilmir (talk) 15:05, 24 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
