Japanese occupation
[edit]Wasn't this film about the Japanese occupation of parts of China? Badagnani (talk) 06:05, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
Merge "The Wandering Songstress"?
[edit]The song article could need more expansion, especially since the copyrighted lyrics are omitted. The song was first used in the film and has been sung later by many singers. However, the content matters more. --George Ho (talk) 22:42, 3 June 2013 (UTC)
- Oppose. It doesn't appear to pass song notability criteria unless it has been "covered" by many notable artists (I think it has, but I'm not great with the transliterations). What swayed me is its glowing cultural praise from its linked RS (not even including what hasn't been found or what is beyond my language barrier)
"For the uninitiated, no music compilation of Chinese golden oldies is complete without this number. It is the most recognisable evergreen tune performed by every female contemporary artiste of substance, from Cai Qin to the late Anita Mui."
(link),"In many of the old Chinese movies, the tune of the song "Wandering Songstress" represents the city of Shanghai."
(link). I think it shows enough independent notability to pass the GNG for its own article. czar · · 18:50, 23 June 2013 (UTC) - Oppose as well; I just added a "Legacy" section to the song article. From what I can tell, its use in Lust, Caution helps it transcend being related to only Street Angel. I think it is more beneficial to have a separate article.
