Efficiency
[edit]Part 5 illogical? The objection to electric heating seems illogical: if electricity generation and transport is inefficient, then it's inefficient for all applications, not just heating. So nobody is getting rid of their TVs and computers just because they too run on electricity, are they? Unless you mean to say, that other sources of power for heating are available, such as gas? -But gas is also a fossil fuel, and your wood heating produces toxic and PM10-filled smoke (walk around in a city in the evening in winter where plenty of people now have fashionable wood stoves, and you'll be getting a lot of PM10!). At least the smoke from electricity generation at a central source could in theory be cleaned of CO2 and PM10, which could never be done properly at each single home. 83.25.183.92 (talk) 19:15, 14 October 2009 (UTC)
Environmental aspects
[edit]The first paragraph under this title assumes that electricity isn't green, and is instead generated with fossil fuels. That is true in some countries, not in others. This section needs to be turned into a more balanced view, or better still refer to the main article on electrical production. Where I live electricity is 95% hydroelectric, with capacity for much more if anyone wanted to pay more for it. Dougmcdonell (talk) 22:16, 29 May 2014 (UTC)
Storage method
[edit]The article doesn't not specify how the heat is stored or released. Those seems like important aspects. Will Beback talk 05:05, 11 February 2011 (UTC)
Imperfect translation from German
[edit]The article contains a few false friends, like "tariff" for "rate" or "price" from German "Tarif", that need to be ironed out in the course of some copy-editing by a native English speaker. —Wegesrand (talk) 12:33, 22 December 2012 (UTC)
LOT of citation issues
[edit]The article is already flagged as having a shortage of citations, but even the ones that are there have problems. Two are broken links, two (including one of the broken links) relate to Australia, which makes them region-centric, and two are quotes from (apparently) the instruction manual for one PARTICULAR space heater. And, of course, there are two in German. That doesn't leave too many that are actually of universal value.--ExpatSalopian (talk) 19:13, 6 July 2014 (UTC)
