Sources and more have been added. -GabaG (talk) 06:17, 27 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
My online norwegian translator is going to have to come into play --Snowded TALK 06:21, 27 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
OK I ran all the references through Google Translate. They more or less support the article, but the "illegal" is only in the headline of the online service, and the body text simply says that they failed to seek a police permit. None of the other references say it is illegal. If this has come up last week when I was in Oslo I could have checked it out, but this article needs some Norwegian speakers to check it out. For the moment I don't think that "illegal" is really justified --Snowded TALK 08:32, 27 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Actually they hadn't even bothered to apply for a permit. As such, the demonstration must have been illegal. -GabaG (talk) 16:24, 8 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It is not as simple as that. You do not need to hold a permission from the police to hold a demonstration, but you are advised to inform them about the demonstration in advance. Usually you get the answer not to bother them with petty details like that (unless, of course, you are a racist or anti-racist organization). What you do need is permission from the land owner. What is a criminal offense, it to not stop demonstrating after being asked by the police, usually after being asked by the land owner, or committing (for instance violent) crimes while demonstrating. As far as I am aware, it is not illegal to gather people in Norway, and there is still freedom of speech. But I couldn't find any laws to support my claims, so don't take my word for the details here. Arsenikk (talk) 23:25, 8 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong categorization

[edit]

"Islamophobia (or anti-Muslim sentiment) is the prejudice against, hatred towards, or fear of the religion of Islam or Muslims." from the de-facto category link.

Now where does "Its stated aim is to work against Islam, which it defines as a totalitarian political ideology that violates the Norwegian Constitution as well as democratic and human values" come in touch with "Islamophobia (or anti-Muslim sentiment) is the prejudice against, hatred towards, or fear of the religion of Islam or Muslims."

I've added high-quality academic sources to the article confirming that Stop Islamisation of Norway is an "anti-Muslim"/"Islamophobic" organization. — Newslinger talk 13:08, 22 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
