CCF
[edit]Hi RP, regarding this edit about David Marsuko, I think we do need to say something about the CCF. They are a lobby group financed by the tobacco, alcohol, and fast-food industries, who have targeted animal rights and protection groups, and anti-alcohol groups such as Mothers Against Drunk Driving. They shouldn't be presented as disinterested or authoritative spokesmen.
If we were quoting Steven Best about David Marsuko, we would add that Best is a spokesmen for the ALF, and if the ALF weren't so well-known, I think we'd give a brief, neutral description. SlimVirgin (talk)(contribs) 04:04, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
- I don't have a problem with a brief, neutral description, but I don't think that edit was neutral. "A lobby group largely financed by the tobacco, alcohol, and fast-food industries" is fine with me. Rockpocket 04:20, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
- That's fine with me too. SlimVirgin (talk)(contribs) 05:05, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
I've tagged this article for primary sources. This article lacks sourcing for much content, though where it is sourced, about half is to the subject. See WP:BLPSPS for reasons to avoid citing to the subject generally. Especially when it comes to claims underpinning notability, any subject's activities, writings, and opinions should be cited by multiple reliable third parties to indicate actual significance. Unsourced material, claims supported by cites to the subject himself and associated groups, should go. JFHJr (㊟) 21:10, 5 February 2012 (UTC)
POV
[edit]The intro sounds like a fluff piece for the subject. It includes a lot of peacock terms and excessive praise: "Best inspires at a global level and shows what philosophy means in a world in crisis.", "Best exemplifies the role of the engaged academic and public intellectual.", etc. DHN (talk) 19:49, 5 May 2019 (UTC)
- I'm removing tag as it looks like the instances of peacocking have been removed.--C.J. Griffin (talk) 18:19, 10 October 2019 (UTC)
